Abstract

Exemplary embodiments include a safety eyewear including: a frame; a flexible cable attached to the frame; and a strap attached to the flexible cable operable at an attachment point for securing the safety eyewear to a user, wherein the flexible cable permits the attachment point to be moved to accommodate a variety of strap configurations.

Claims (10)

1. A safety eyewear comprising:

a frame;

a flexible cable attached to the frame at a first frame side and at an opposite second frame side, the flexible cable extending from the first frame side through an aperture in said frame to the second frame side; and

a strap attached to the flexible cable for securing the safety eyewear to a user, wherein the flexible cable permits the attachment point to be moved to accommodate a variety of strap configurations.

2. A safety eyewear in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said flexible cable adjusts between said first and second frame side to self compensate between said first and said second frame side portions for strap position changes.

3. A safety eyewear in accordance with claim 2 , wherein said flexible cable extends from first and second lower frame portions and first and second upper frame portions to first and second end portions of said strap.

4. A safety eyewear in accordance with claim 3 , wherein said flexible cable is slidably provided through an aperture in an upper frame portion between said first and second frame side portions.

A safety eyewear in accordance with claim 2 , wherein said flexible cable is attached at a lower first side frame portion, extends as a loop to the upper first side frame portion, is routed through an aperture in an upper frame portion between said first and said second sides, extends as a loop from the upper second side frame portion and is attached at a lower second side frame portion.

6. A safety eyewear in accordance with claim 2 , further comprising a removable lens carrier removably attached to the frame, the removable lens carrier including an attached lens.

7. A safety eyewear in accordance with claim 6 , wherein the attached lens is permanently attached to the removable lens carrier.
