PROCESS AND PRODUCT FOR DETERMINING AN AMOUNT OF POSTING PAYMENT
Products and processes are provided in which information is received about a post for an item to be sold. The information may include, e.g., the class and type of item being sold, the reputation of a seller, a floor price below which the item will not be sold, a condition of the item and peripherals included with the item. Based on the received information, a posting payment amount is determined.
1 . A method comprising:
receiving personal description data of a person, the personal description data including at least one predetermined characteristic;
determining that the personal description data is accurate;
determining a posting payment amount based at least in part on the at least one predetermined characteristic;
posting at least a portion of the personal description data; and
paying the person the posting payment amount.
2 . The method of claim 1 , in which receiving the personal description data comprises receiving the personal description data via a Web page.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the personal description data comprises a resume.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the predetermined characteristic comprises at least one of a particular job skill or particular job experience.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the personal description data comprises a personal profile.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the predetermined characteristic comprises at least one of income data or marital status data.
7 . The method of claim 1 , in which posting at least a portion of the personal description data comprises:
generating a Web page indicating personal description data; and
making the Web page accessible for display.
8 . The method of claim 1 , in which determining that the personal data is accurate comprises:
receiving feedback data concerning the personal data from a plurality of users; and
analyzing the feedback data.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the posting payment amount is a modified commission agreement.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts associated with the person that have been posted.
11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts that posted within a predetermined time period.
12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the profitability of a seller.
13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a amount of bids received for a current post.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the amount of bids satisfies at least one of a minimum requirement or a restriction.
15 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on an amount of bids received for previous postings.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the amount of bids satisfies at least one of a minimum requirement or a restriction.
17 . The method of claim 1 , in which paying the person comprises at least one of providing a credit to the person towards a purchase, depositing a payment into an account of the person, and providing a coupon to the person.
18 . The method of claim 1 , in which paying the person comprises featuring the post prominently.
19 . A computer readable medium storing instructions configured to direct a processor to:
receive personal description data of a person, the personal description data including at least one predetermined characteristic;
determine that the personal description data is accurate;
determine a posting payment amount based at least in part on the at least one predetermined characteristic;
post at least a portion of the personal description data; and
pay the person the posting payment amount.
20 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , in which the instructions for receiving the personal description data comprise instructions configured to direct the processor to receive the personal description data via a Web page.
21 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , in which the instructions for posting at least a portion of the personal description data comprise instructions configured to direct the processor to:
generate a Web page indicating personal description data; and
display the Web page.
22 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , in which the instructions for determining that the personal data is accurate comprise instructions configured to direct the processor to:
receive feedback data concerning the personal data from a plurality of users; and
analyze the feedback data.
23 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts associated with the person that have been posted.
24 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts that posted within a predetermined time period.
25 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the profitability of a seller.
26 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the amount of bids received for a current post.
27 . The computer readable medium of claim 26 , in which the instructions for determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the amount of bids received for a current post comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine that at least one of a minimum bid requirement or a restriction is met.
28 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on an amount of bids received for previous postings.
29 . The computer readable medium of claim 28 , in which the instructions for determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the amount of bids received for previous postings comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine that at least one of a minimum requirement or a restriction is met.
30 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , in which the instructions for paying the person comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to at least one of provide a credit to the person towards a purchase, deposit a payment into an account of the person, and provide a coupon to the person.
31 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , in which the instructions for paying the person comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to feature the post prominently.
32 . A posting device, comprising:
a processor;
a communication port coupled to the processor; and
a storage device operatively coupled to the processor and containing instructions configured to direct the processor to:
receive personal description data of a person, the personal description data including at least one predetermined characteristic;
determine that the personal description data is accurate;
determine a posting payment amount based at least in part on the at least one predetermined characteristic;
post at least a portion of the personal description data; and
pay the person the posting payment amount.
33 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the storage device further comprises at least one of a seller database, an item database and a posting database.
34 . A method comprising:
offering a posting payment amount in exchange for receiving personal description data for posting that includes at least one predetermined characteristic;
receiving personal description data of a person that includes the at least one predetermined characteristic;
determining that the personal description data is accurate;
paying the person the posting payment amount; and
posting at least a portion of the personal description data.
35 . The method of claim 34 , in which receiving the personal description data comprises receiving the personal description data via a Web page.
36 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the personal description data comprises a resume.
37 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the predetermined characteristic comprises at least one of a particular job skill or particular job experience.
38 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the personal description data comprises a personal profile.
39 . The method of claim 38 , wherein the predetermined characteristic comprises at least one of income data or marital status data.
40 . The method of claim 34 , in which posting at least a portion of the personal description data comprises:
generating a Web page indicating personal description data; and
making the Web page accessible for display.
41 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the profitability of a seller.
42 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the amount of bids received for a current post.
43 . The method of claim 42 , wherein the amount of bids satisfies at least one of a minimum requirement or a restriction.
44 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on an amount of bids received for previous postings.
45 . The method of claim 44 , wherein the amount of bids satisfies at least one of a minimum requirement or a restriction.
46 . The method of claim 34 , in which paying the person comprises at least one of providing a credit to the person towards a purchase, depositing a payment into an account of the person, and providing a coupon to the person.
47 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts associated with the person that have been posted.
48 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising determining at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts that posted within a predetermined time period.
49 . The method of claim 34 , in which paying the person comprises featuring the post prominently.
50 . A computer readable medium storing instructions configured to direct a processor to:
offer a posting payment amount in exchange for receiving personal description data for posting that includes at least one predetermined characteristic;
receive personal description data of a person that includes the at least one predetermined characteristic;
determine that the personal description data is accurate;
pay the person the posting payment amount; and
post at least a portion of the personal description data.
51 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , in which the instructions for receiving the personal description data comprise instructions configured to direct the processor to receive the personal description data via a Web page.
52 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , in which the instructions for posting at least a portion of the personal description data comprise instructions configured to direct the processor to:
generate a Web page indicating personal description data; and
display the Web page.
53 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts associated with the person that have been posted.
54 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts that posted within a predetermined time period.
55 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the profitability of a seller.
56 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on the amount of bids received for a current post.
57 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , in which the instructions for paying the person comprise instructions configured to direct the processor to at least one of provide a credit to the person towards a purchase, deposit a payment into an account of the person, and provide a coupon to the person.
58 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , which further comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine at least a portion of the value of the posting payment amount based on a number of posts associated with the person that have been posted.
59 . The computer readable medium of claim 50 , in which the instructions for paying the person comprise instructions configured to direct the processor to feature the post prominently.
60 . A posting device, comprising:
a processor;
a communication port coupled to the processor; and
a storage device operatively coupled to the processor and containing instructions configured to direct the processor to:
offer a posting payment amount in exchange for receiving personal description data for posting that includes at least one predetermined characteristic;
receive personal description data of a person that includes the at least one predetermined characteristic;
determine that the personal description data is accurate;
pay the person the posting payment amount; and
post at least a portion of the personal description data.
61 . The apparatus of claim 60 , wherein the storage device further comprises at least one of a seller database, an item database and a posting database.
