Water-conducting household appliance and method for the operation thereof
View Patent ↗A dishwasher includes at least one substantially closed water circuit in which rinsing liquid is circulated according to a program control unit, the rinsing liquid being conveyed through a filter element while circulating in order to filter out dirt. Another water circuit is provided through which the rinsing liquid is circulated according to the program control unit when the filter element is covered with dirt in order to cause the filter element to be cleaned.
1. A water-conducting household appliance, comprising:
an assembly for retaining therein a rinsing liquid;
a first filter element;
a first water circuit in which rinsing liquid is circulated, the rinsing liquid conveyed through the first filter element while circulating such that the first filter element captures dirt entrained with the rinsing liquid; and
a second water circuit through which the rinsing liquid is circulated when the first filter element has captured a predetermined quantity of dirt, whereby dirt captured by the first filter element can be cleared from the first filter element; and a program unit that includes a program for directing the first water circuit and the second water circuit to circulate the rinsing liquid.
2. A household appliance as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first filter element is built onto or into a pump well of the household appliance and is operable to be flushed by the rinsing liquid flowing in the second water circuit.

The household appliance as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first filter element has a variable mesh or column width for the provision of a first and a second operating state where the first filter element carries out the filtering of dirt from that located in the first water circuit in the first operating state, and in the second operating state enables loosening of the dirt trapped in the first filter element upon circumflow of the rinsing liquid supplied through the second water circuit.
4. The household appliance as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the second water circuit has a second filter element.
5. The household appliance as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the second filter element is arranged in the second water circuit.

The household appliance as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the second filter element has a variable mesh or column width for the provision of a first and a second operating state where the second filter element carries out the filtering of dirt from the rinsing liquid located in the water circuit in the first operating state, and in the second operating state enables loosening of the dirt trapped in the second filter element upon circumflow of the second filter element with rinsing liquid of the second water circuit.
7. The household appliance as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the second water circuit is integrated into a water outlet so that the rinsing liquid conveyed in the second water circuit can be conducted to the household appliance or the water outlet.

The household appliance as claimed in claim 4 , wherein at least one of the first filter element and the second filter element consists of thread elements which are arranged under tension for cleaning of the rinsing liquid and not under tension for cleaning of the at least one of the first filter element and the second filter element.
9. The household appliance as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the thread elements are arranged on securing elements and when tensioned are essentially arranged in a single plane or in bent form.
