Printhead Firing Pattern Method
A method is provided for firing nozzles in a pagewidth inkjet printhead. The nozzles share a common ink reservoir and are arranged in rows. The method includes the step of firing all of the nozzles in a first row prior to firing any of the nozzles in another row. Typically, the method further includes the step of firing all of the nozzles in the other row prior to re-firing any of the nozzles in the first row.
1 . A method for firing nozzles in a pagewidth inkjet printhead, the nozzles sharing a common ink reservoir and being arranged in rows, the method comprising the step of:
firing all of the nozzles in a first row prior to firing any of the nozzles in another row.
2 . A method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein all of the nozzles in the first row are fired successively.
3 . A method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the nozzles in the other row are also fired successively.
4 . A method as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the nozzles in the rows are fired successively in the same direction.
5 . A method as claimed in claim 1 , in which all of the nozzles in the other row are fired prior to re-firing any of the nozzles in the first row.
6 . A method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first row and other row are located adjacently.
7 . A method as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the first row and other row form a pod of nozzles, with each row comprising five nozzles.
