Abstract

The present invention relates to processes for preparing peptides and to intermediates involved in such processes, e.g. a process for preparing a compound of formula VIII wherein R 12 and R 13 are as defined herein.

Claims (5)

1. A compound of formula XIV

wherein R 16 is a removable protecting group other than fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl, and is different to R 18 ;

R 17 is hydrogen or a blocking group removable by hydrolysis or hydrogenolysis; and

R 18 is hydrogen or a removable protecting group other than fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl.

2. A compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 16 is tert-butoxycarbonyl.
