Abstract

The invention relates to the use of creatine, creatinine and/or derivatives thereof and/or their salts in an agent for hardening, strengthening, restructuring or increasing the shine, volume or combability of keratin fibers, particularly of human hair.

Claims (32)

1. A hair bleaching composition having a pH of 2.0 to 10.0 and consisting of:

at least one solvent ingredient selected from the group consisting of water, ethanol, n-propanol, glycerol and 1,2-propane-diol;

an effective amount of at least one oxidizing agent for bleaching the hair;

from 0.05 to 30 wt. % of at least one active ingredient selected from the group consisting of creatine, salts of creatine, creatinine and salts of said creatinine;

at least one pH adjusting agent in an amount such that said pH is from 2.0 to 10.0;

at least one auxiliary agent selected from the group consisting of thickeners, wetting agents, emulsifiers, opacifiers, perfume oils, preservatives, dyes, buffering agents, solubilizers, stabilizers, lanolin derivatives, cholesterol, pantothenic acid and betaine;

wherein said opacifiers, said perfume oils, said preservatives, and said dyes, when present, are each present in an amount of from 0.01 to 5 wt. %;

wherein said buffering agents, when present, are present in a total amount of from 0.1 to 10 wt. %;

wherein said emulsifiers and said wetting agents, when present, are present in a total amount of from 0.2 to 30 wt. %;

wherein the solubilizers, stabilizers, lanolin derivatives, cholesterol, pantothenic acid, and betaine, when present, are each present in an amount of from 0.1 to 5 wt. %; and

wherein the thickeners and the solubilizers, when present, are present in a total amount of from 0.5 to 20 wt. %.

The hair bleaching composition as defined in claim 1 , wherein said at least one pH adjusting agent is selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, citric acid, sorbic acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, glutathione, gluconolactone, ammonia, an alkanolamine, an alkylamine, an alkali metal hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide, an alkali metal carbonate, ammonium carbonate and an alkali metal phosphate.

3. The hair bleaching composition as defined in claim 2 , containing from 0.1 to 95 wt. % water and/or from 0.1 to 50 wt. % of an alcohol selected from the group consisting of ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, glycerol and 1,2-propanediol.

4. The hair bleaching composition as defined in claim 2 , wherein said oxidizing agent is hydrogen peroxide.

5. An oxidative hair coloring composition having a pH of 2.0 to 10.0 and consisting of:

at least one solvent ingredient selected from the group consisting of water, ethanol, n-propanol, glycerol and 1,2-propanediol;

an effective amount of at least one oxidizing agent for oxidatively dyeing the hair;

from 0.05 to 30 wt. % of at least one active ingredient selected from the group consisting of creatine, salts of creatine, creatinine and salts of said creatinine;

at least one pH adjusting agent in an amount such that said pH is from 2.0 to 10.0;

at least one auxiliary agent selected from the group consisting of thickeners, wetting agents, emulsifiers, opacifiers, perfume oils, preservatives, dyes, buffering agents, solubilizers, stabilizers, lanolin derivatives, cholesterol, pantothenic acid and betaine;

wherein said opacifiers, said perfume oils, said preservatives, and said dyes, when present, are each present in an amount of from 0.01 to 5 wt. %;

wherein said buffering agents, when present, are present in a total amount of from 0.1 to 10 wt. %;

wherein said emulsifiers and said wetting agents, when present, are present in a total amount of from 0.2 to 30 wt. %;

wherein the solubilizers, stabilizers, lanolin derivatives, cholesterol, pantothenic acid, and betaine, when present, are each present in an amount of from 0.1 to 5 wt. %; and

wherein the thickeners and the solubilizers, when present, are present in a total amount of from 0.5 to 20 wt. %.

The oxidative hair coloring composition as defined in claim 5 , wherein said at least one pH adjusting agent is selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, citric acid, sorbic acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, glutathione, gluconolactone, ammonia, an alkanolamine, an alkylamine, an alkali metal hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide, an alkali metal carbonate, ammonium carbonate and an alkali metal phosphate.

7. The oxidative hair coloring composition as defined in claim 5 , containing from 0.1 to 95 wt. % water and/or from 0.1 to 50 wt. % of an alcohol selected from the group consisting of ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, glycerol and 1,2-propanol.

8. A hair shampoo consisting of:

40.0 wt. % of a 25% aqueous solution of sodium lauryl ether sulfate;

4.0 wt. % of NaCl;

1.0 wt. % of creatine, and

a remaining portion, said remaining portion consisting of water.
