Abstract

An electric driving machine has a motor for rotating a flywheel, power transmission for converting rotational drive force of the flywheel into rectilinear drive force and transmitting the rectilinear drive force to an actuator which fires a fastener, and engagement/disengagement arrangement which transmits the rotational drive force of the flywheel to a driver blade of interrupts transmission of the rotational drive force. The electric driving machine is provided with a second switching element connected in series with the engagement/disengagement arrangement and a third switching element connected in shunt with the engagement/disengagement arrangement. When a push lever switch is in an OFF position where driving of a fastener is not ready, the third switching element is held in an ON state.

Claims (20)

1. An electric driving machine having

a housing having a fastener driving section at one end;

a magazine which is disposed in the fastener driving section of the housing and which supplies a fastener to the fastener driving section;

an actuator which is provided in the housing and which performs linear motion so as to be able to fire a fastener supplied to the fastener driving section;

a motor disposed in the housing;

a flywheel which is mechanically coupled to the motor and which can accumulate kinetic energy stemming from rotational movement of the motor;

an actuator feeding mechanism for imparting rotational drive force of the flywheel to the actuator as rectilinear drive force in such a way that the actuator fires a fastener in the fastener driving section;

a power transmission section capable of bringing the flywheel and the actuator feeding mechanism into an engaged state or a disengaged state so as to enable or disable transmission of the rotational drive force of the flywheel to the actuator feeding mechanism;

engagement/disengagement means for controlling the power transmission section to the engaged state or the disengaged state;

a push lever switch for adjusting a timing at which a fastener provided at an extremity of the fastener driving section is fired;

a trigger switch for instructing fastener driving operation, and

a controller for controlling the motor and the engagement/disengagement means in accordance with operation of the push lever switch and operation of the trigger switch, the driving machine comprising:

a first switching element which is toggled between on and off in order to control a power supply to the motor;

a second switching element which is connected in series with the engagement/disengagement means in order to control a power supply to the engagement/disengagement means and which is toggled between on and off; and

a third switching element which is connected in shunt with the engagement/disengagement means in order to control the power supply to the engagement/disengagement means and which is toggled between on and off, wherein, when the controller activates the first switching element in response to the operation of the push lever switch and the operation of the trigger switch, to thus supply power to the motor and effect driving of a fastener, deactivation of the third switching element and activation of the second switching element are performed in response to the activation of the trigger switch and the activation of the push lever switch, thereby controlling the engagement/disengagement means to an engaged state from a disengaged state.

2. The electric driving machine according to claim 1 , wherein the engagement/disengagement means includes a solenoid,

wherein the power transmission section is configured so as to enter the engaged state or the disengaged state in response to actuation of the solenoid,

wherein the second switching element is connected in series with the solenoid, and

wherein the third switching element is connected in shunt with the solenoid.

3. The electric driving machine according to claim 1 , wherein, when having determined initiation of fastener driving operation, the controller controls the first switching element to an off state, the second switching element to an on state, and the third switching element to an off state.
