METHOD FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF RESPIRATORY ALLERGIES
The present invention is directed to a novel method for preventing or treating the development of respiratory allergies. The method comprises prenatal and/or postnatal administration of a therapeutically effective amount of LGG.
1 . A method for preventing the development of respiratory allergies in a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of LGG prior to allergic sensitization of the subject.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the administration of LGG comprises ingestion of LGG by the subject's mother during pregnancy and after birth of the subject and breast feeding of the subject by the mother after birth.
3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the administration of LGG to the subject comprises ingestion of LGG by the subject's mother and breast feeding of the subject by the mother.
