Connector having a rotary engaging member
In a connector for connecting a connection object having a locked portion, a movable member is provided so as to be movable in a predetermined direction between a connecting position and an ejecting position together with the connection object. A cam mechanism is coupled to the movable member and selectively maintains the movable member at the connecting position or at the ejecting position. A first engaging member is held by the movable member and is rotatable in a rotating direction. The first engaging member has a locking portion to be engaged with the locked portion in the predetermined direction when the first engaging member is located at a predetermined angular position. A braking device is coupled with the first engaging member to brake the first engaging member in the rotating direction.
1 . A connector for connecting a connection object having a recessed portion, the connector comprising:
a movable member movable in a predetermined direction between a connecting position and an ejecting position together with the connection object;
a cam mechanism coupled to the movable member for selectively maintaining the movable member at the connecting position or at the ejecting position;
a first engaging member held by the movable member and movable in a given direction, the first engaging member having a locking portion to be engaged with the recessed portion in the predetermined direction when the first engaging member is located at a predetermined position; and
an elastic member continuously urging the first engaging member towards the predetermined position;
a second engaging member mounted on the movable member to be movable in the predetermined direction and facing the first engaging member in the predetermined direction; and
a second elastic member continuously urging the second engaging member towards the first engaging member in the predetermined direction,
the first engaging member further having a cam surface for pressing the second engaging member against the second elastic member during movement.
2 . The connector according to claim 1 , wherein the elastic member has an urging force acting on the first engaging member, the urging force becoming small when the movable member is at the ejecting position as compared with that when the movable member is at the connecting position.
3 . (canceled)
4 . The connector according to claim 1 , wherein the locking portion and the cam surface have phases selected so that, when the connection object moves from the connecting position to the ejecting position, the locking portion is pressed by the recessed portion to move the first engaging ember and the cam surface presses the second engaging member.
5 . The connector according to claim 1 , wherein the first engaging member is movable perpendicular to the predetermined direction.
6 . The connector according to claim 1 , further comprising a housing holding the movable member and the cam mechanism, the second elastic member being interposed between the housing and the second engaging member.
7 . The connector according to claim 1 , wherein the second engaging member comprises:
a flange portion facing the first engaging member; and
a rod-like portion extending from the flange portion in the predetermined direction,
the elastic member comprising a coil spring fitted over the rod-like portion and having one end engaged with the flange portion.
8 . The connector according to claim 7 , wherein the second engaging member further has spindle portion extending from the rod-like portion in the predetermined direction inside the coil spring.
9 . The connector according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a housing holding the movable portion and the cam mechanism;
a conductive contact held by the housing and adapted to be contacted with the connection object at the connecting position; and
a cover frame coupled with the housing and defining the connecting position in cooperation with the housing.
10 . A connector to be connected to a connection object having a recessed portion, the connector comprising:
a movable member to be contacted with the connection object and movable together with the connection object;
a cam mechanism for selectively maintaining the movable member at a connecting position or an ejecting position of the connection object; and
an elastic member for continuously urging the connection object towards the ejecting position,
the movable member having an engaging member provided with a locking portion to be engaged with the recessed portion,
the engaging member being movably held and adapted to lock a connected state of the connection object,
the elastic member continuously urging the locking portion towards the recessed portion.
11 . A connector comprising a housing and an ejecting mechanism formed on the housing to connect a connection object having a recessed portion at a connecting position and to eject the connection object to an ejecting position, wherein the ejecting mechanism comprises:
an ejecting member to be contacted with the connection object and movable together with the connection object, the ejecting member having an engaging member provided with a locking portion to be engaged with the recessed portion;
a cam mechanism for selectively maintaining the ejecting member at the connecting position or the ejecting position of the connection object; and
an elastic member urging the engaging member towards the ejecting position,
the engaging member being movably held and being adapted to lock a fitted state of the connection object, the elastic member urging the locking portion towards the recessed portion.
12 . The connector according to claim 11 , wherein the engaging member comprises:
a first engaging part; and
a second engaging part continuously urged by the elastic member,
the first engaging part comprising:
the locking portion to be inserted into the recessed portion to be engaged therewith; and
