Anti-IL-6 antibodies, compositions, methods and uses
View Patent ↗The present invention relates to at least one novel chimeric, humanized or CDR-grafted anti-IL-6 antibodies derived from the murine CLB-8 antibody, including isolated nucleic acids that encode at least one such anti-IL-6 antibody, vectors, host cells, transgenic animals or plants, and methods of making and using thereof, including therapeutic compositions, methods and devices.
1. An isolated host cell comprising an isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence that encodes a heavy chain antibody variable region and a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence that encodes a light chain antibody variable region, wherein said heavy chain variable region comprises CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 amino acid sequences selected from SEQ ID NOS: 1-3 respectively and said light chain variable region comprises CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 amino acid sequences selected from SEQ ID NOS: 4-6, respectively, wherein the antibody binds IL-6.
2. A host cell according to claim 1 , wherein said host cell is at least one selected from COS-1, COS-7, HEK293, BHK21, CHO, BSC-1, Hep G2, 653, SP2/0, 293, HeLa, myeloma, or lymphoma cells, or any derivative, immortalized or transformed cell thereof.
3. A method for producing an IL-6 antibody or antibody fragment, comprising expressing said antibody or antibody fragment in recoverable amounts from a host cell according to claim 1 .
4. A method according to claim 3 wherein said host cell is a mammalian cell, a plant cell or a yeast cell.
