Image processing apparatus and control method thereof for selecting and displaying related image content of primary image content
View Patent ↗There is provided an image processing apparatus which comprises a receiver which receives primary image content; a communicator which communicates with at least one supply source which supplies related image content of the primary image content; a signal processor which processes and outputs the primary image content; and a controller which controls the communicator to request the supply source to supply the related image content, and controls the signal processor to process and play the related image content supplied from the supply source in response to the request if a user selects a key to play the related image content of the primary image content while the primary image content received by the receiver is processed by the signal processor.
1. An image processing apparatus, comprising:
a receiver which receives a first image content;
a communicator which communicates with at least one supply source;
a processor which processes and outputs image contents; and
a controller which controls the communicator to request the at least one supply source to supply a second image content, and controls the processor to process and play the supplied second image content in response to a user selection input to play the supplied second image content while the first image content is processed by the processor,
wherein the first image content is an episode in a video series and the second image content is one of a previous or subsequent episode of the first image content.

The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the controller requests the at least one supply source to transmit the second image content relating to at least one of a title, content and a genre of the first image content, based on additional information included in the first image content.
3. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a user input unit which is provided to select a key to play the second image content, wherein
the controller requests the at least one supply source to transmit the second image content if the key to play the second image content is selected through the user input unit.
4. The image processing apparatus according to claim 3 , further comprising a user interface (UI) generator, wherein
the controller requests the at least one supply source to transmit a list of the second image content, controls the UI generator to generate a UI based on the list of the second image content supplied from the supply source, and requests the at least one supply source to transmit the second image content selected through the user input unit if the key to play the second image content is selected through the user input unit.
5. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a display unit.
6. An image processing apparatus, comprising:
a communicator which receives a first image content from at least one supply source which supplies the first image content, and communicates with the supply source;
a processor which processes and outputs the first image content; and
a controller which controls the communicator to request the at least one supply source to supply a second image content of the first image content and controls the processor to process and play the second image content supplied from the at least one supply source in response to the request if a user selects a selection input to play the second image content while the first image content is processed by the processor, and
wherein the first image content is an episode in a video series and the second image content is one of a previous or subsequent episode of the first image content.
7. A method of controlling an image processing apparatus, comprising:
receiving a first image content from at least one supply source;
processing the received first image content;
determining whether a user selection input to play a second image content of the first image content while the received first image content is processed is received;
requesting the at least one supply source to supply the second image content if the selection input to play of the second image content is received; and
processing and playing the second image content supplied from the at least one supply source in response to the request,
wherein the first image content is an episode in a video series and the second image content is one of a previous or subsequent episode of the first image content.

The method according to claim 7 , wherein the requesting the at least one supply source to supply the second image content comprises requesting the at least one supply source to supply the second image content relating to at least one of a title, content and a genre of the first image content, based on additional information included in the first image content.
9. The method according to claim 8 , wherein the requesting the at least one supply source to supply the second image content comprises requesting the at least one supply source which supplies the first image content among the at least one supply source, to supply the second image content.
10. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the requesting the at least one supply source to supply the second image content comprises:
requesting a list of the second image content to the at least one supply source,
generating a user interface (UI) based on the list of the second image content supplied from the at least one supply source,
selecting at least one of the second image content through the UI, and
requesting the second image content selected through the UI from the at least one supply source.
11. The method according to claim 8 , further comprising processing and displaying the first image content if the playing of the second image content is finished.
12. The method according to claim 7 , further comprising processing and displaying the first image content if the playing of the second image content is finished.
