Abstract

The invention provides DNA compositions that relate to transgenic insect resistant maize plants. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the maize DAS-59122-7 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the maize genome and the DNA sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are provided.

Claims (3)

1. A pair of isolated DNA nucleotide primer sequences comprising a first sequence selected from the group consisting of: SEQ ID NOS: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 17, or its complement and a second sequence selected from the group consisting of: SEQ ID NOS: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 15, 16, 18, 36, and 37, or its complement wherein the primer pair is capable of uniquely identifying even DAS-59122-7.

2. The pair of isolated DNA nucleotide primer sequences of claim 1 , wherein the first sequence is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 1, 9, and 17, or its complement and the second sequence is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 2,8,10,18, and 36, or its complement.

3. A DNA detection kit comprising a primer pair each comprising at least 10 nucleotides from within SEQ ID NO: 21 and SEQ ID NO: 22, wherein each is on opposite sides of a sequence diagnostic for the DAS-59122-7 even insertion, wherein said primer pair comprises a first sequence and a second sequence, wherein the first sequence is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 1,3,5,7,9, 12, 13, 14, and 17, and complements thereof, and the second sequence is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10,11, 15, 16, 18, 36, and 37, or its complement.
