Abstract

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for generating and utilizing a user pattern profile. In this regard, the user pattern profile can include information regarding service selections made on a user node and movements of a user. The generated user pattern profile can compared to a threshold profile, and based on the results of the comparison, an action can be undertaken.

Claims (44)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving one or more service selections of a user node;

receiving location information of the a user node;

updating a user pattern profile with the one or more service selections and location information;

comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile; and

performing an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile.

2 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving a threshold profile update from a trader node; and

updating the threshold profile, wherein comparing the user pattern profile comprises comparing the user pattern profile with the updated threshold profile, and performing an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with the updated threshold profile.

3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the user pattern profile comprises one or more a user pattern vectors.

4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the threshold profile comprises a threshold profile vector.

5 . The method of claim 1 further comprising accessing a service node from the user node via a network access node, wherein the network access node comprises a video sensor.

6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the user pattern profile comprises location information of the user node and user recognition information.

7 . The method of claim 1 wherein performing an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile comprises sending a message to the user node based on a relationship of the user pattern profile to a threshold value of the threshold profile.

The method of claim 1 wherein performing an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile comprises sending the result to a trader node and the trader node sending a message to the user node based on a relationship of the user pattern profile to a threshold value of the threshold profile.

9 . The method of claim 1 wherein performing an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile comprises alerting the trader node of the result based on a relationship of the user pattern profile to a threshold value of the threshold profile.

10 . The method of claim 1 further comprising receiving additional service information on the user node based on the one or more service selections.

11 . An apparatus comprising a processor configured to

receive one or more service selections of a user node;

receive location information of a user node;

update a user pattern profile with the one or more service selections and location information; and

receive an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile.

12 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the processor is further configured to receive an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with an updated threshold profile.

13 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the user pattern profile comprises one or more a user pattern vectors.

14 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the threshold profile comprises a threshold profile vector.

15 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the processor is further configured to access a service node via a network access node, wherein the network access node comprises a video sensor.

16 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the user pattern profile comprises location information of the user node and user recognition information.

17 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the processor is further configured to receive an action wherein the action is a message based on a relationship of the user pattern profile to a threshold profile.

18 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the processor is further configured to receive an action wherein the action is a message from the trader node based on a relationship of a user pattern profile to a threshold profile.

19 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the location information is received from a video sensor.

20 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the processor is further configured to receive additional service information based on the one or more service selections.

21 . A computer-readable storage medium having computer-readable program code portions stored therein, the computer-readable program code portions comprising:

a first executable portion configured to receive one or more service selections of a user node;

a second executable portion configured to receive location information of a user node;

a third executable portion configured to update a user pattern profile with the one or more service selections and location information on a service node; and

a fourth executable portion configured to receive an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile.

22 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 further comprising a fifth executable portion configured to receive an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with an updated threshold profile.

23 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 wherein the received action comprises a message and wherein the fourth executable portion is configured to receive the message based on a relationship of a user pattern profile to a threshold profile.

24 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 wherein the received action comprises a message and wherein the fourth executable portion is configured to receive the message from the trader node base on a relationship of a user pattern profile to a threshold profile.

25 . An apparatus comprising:

means for receiving one or more service selections of a user node;

means for receiving location information of the user node;

means for updating a user pattern profile with the one or more service selections and location information on a service node; and

means for receiving an action based on a result of comparing the user pattern profile with a threshold profile.
