Abstract

In embodiments, the present invention provides a method and system for delivery of content on a mobile media platform, providing an automated tag processing facility, and delivering content to a mobile device, wherein content delivery is based at least in part on the automated tag processing.

Claims (44)

1 - 50 . (canceled)

51 . A method of processing tags for mobile media delivery, comprising:

tagging content based on the requirements of preparing the content for delivery, wherein tagging is based on a consumption profile for the content;

configuring a mobile media platform to prepare the content based on the tags;

preparing the content for delivery using the configured mobile media platform; and

delivering the prepared content so that delivery related requirements specified by the content tags are satisfied.

52 - 74 . (canceled)

75 . A method of tagging mobile content comprising:

providing a mobile media platform associated with at least one of collection, encoding, storage, and distribution of the mobile content to users of mobile communications facilities, wherein the content is tagged during ingestion by the mobile media platform prior to distribution, wherein the tagging is based on a consumption profile associated with the content.

76 . The method of claim 75 , wherein the tag is updated during additional platform operations prior to distribution.

77 - 82 . (canceled)

83 . A method of tagging mobile content comprising:

tagging content with content processing information, the tagging based on a consumption profile that is based on suitability of the content for use on types of devices and types of networks;

examining the tags to determine status of content processing; and

optimizing one or more of a plurality of mobile media platform processes based on the processing status.

84 . The method of claim 83 , wherein an encoding process is optimized.

85 . The method of claim 83 , wherein a hosting process is optimized.

86 . The method of claim 83 , wherein distributing processed content is optimized.

87 . The method of claim 83 , wherein revenue from advertisement insertions in the content is optimized.

88 - 178 . (canceled)

179 . The method of claim 51 , wherein the consumption profile is based on the suitability of the content for a type of device and a type of network.

180 . The method of claim 51 , wherein the content is video content.

181 . The method of claim 51 further comprising, providing a report based on the content of the tags.

182 . The method of claim 51 further comprising providing a report with respect to use of content having the tags.

183 . The method of claim 75 , wherein the consumption profile is based on suitability of the content for delivery to types of devices and types of network.

184 . The method of claim 83 wherein the tags are automatically populated based on usage of the content.

185 . The method of claim 83 wherein the tags are automatically generated.

186 . The method of claim 83 wherein the consumption profile is modified based on the usage of the content.

187 . A method of processing tags for mobile media delivery, comprising:

taking tags for content, wherein the content was tagged based on a consumption profile for the content;

configuring a mobile media platform to prepare the content based on the tags;

preparing the content for delivery using the configured mobile media platform; and

delivering the prepared content so that delivery related requirements that are determined from the content tags are satisfied.

188 . The method of claim 187 , wherein the requirements impact one or more of ingestion, encoding, transcoding, pause and resume, mediation and settlement, and delivery.

189 . The method of claim 187 , wherein preparing content for delivery includes encoding the content to conform to an encoding format that is represented by the content tags.

190 . The method of claim 187 , wherein evaluating content tags includes detecting the tags in a file containing the content to be delivered.

191 . The method of claim 187 , wherein the tags identify a type of content being prepared.

192 . The method of claim 187 , wherein the tags impact delivery.

193 . The method of claim 192 , wherein delivery is determined by one or more of the tags.

194 . A method, comprising:

tagging media content based on a consumption profile for the content, wherein the consumption profile is based on suitability of the content for types of devices and types of networks; and

presenting the tags in a facility for discovery of content, thereby facilitating discovery of tagged content that fits a specified consumption profile.

195 . The method of claim 194 wherein the facility for discovery of content makes the tags accessible to a search engine.

196 . The method of claim 194 wherein the facility for discovery of content is associated with a social network.
