METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR LANCET ACTUATION
A lancet driver is provided wherein the driver exerts a driving force on a lancet during a lancing cycle and is used on a tissue site. The driver comprises of a drive force generator for advancing the lancet and a processor coupled to the drive force generator capable of changing the direction and magnitude of force exerted on the lancet during the lancing cycle. The driver further includes a human interface on the housing providing at least one output for communicating with the patient.
1 . A body fluid sampling apparatus, comprising:
a plurality of penetrating members;
a penetrating member actuator coupled to each of a penetrating member;
a plurality of micro sample chambers, each of a penetrating member being associated with a micro sample chamber, each of a micro sampling chamber positioned to receive a body fluid from a tissue site in response to penetration of the tissue site by a penetrating member, and each micro sample chamber having an analyte sensor; and
a controller operable to initiate analyte testing of the body fluid.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to adjust one or more of the operating parameters.
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a channel that provides for capillary flow of the body flow from the tissue site to a micro sample chamber.
4 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the operating parameters adapt to a particular user prior to a measurement operation.
5 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the operating parameters are executed by resources that are controlled with a user interface.
6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to provide for continuous monitoring for analyte testing.
7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to provide for drug delivery.
