Abstract

This invention is a computer based system for the assessment, management and instruction of students, and for the delivery of work pages and other instructional materials in the form of electronic student workbooks. The computer based assessment of the student produces a student profile including skill gaps or learning objectives. Teacher ( 20 ) and student ( 22 ) workstations are networked CPUs with pen-based tablet inputs, and displays network with a central processor ( 10 ) and data base. A director workstation may also be networked with the central processor. The central processor generates a teacher workbook either directly or with input from the director workstation. The teacher, or teacher and director together, assemble an electronic student workbook containing instructional materials correlated with the student profile. The system tracks useful data such as instructional material (e.g., textbook pages, work sheets, software, simulations, tests, etc.) delivered to students.

Claims (10)

1 - 39 . (canceled)

40 . A system for delivery of instructional material associated with a curriculum comprising:

a database storing instructional material that relates to the curriculum;

a software update module adapted to update the instructional materials in said database based on at least one of a new curriculum material, a new assessment requirement or a new practice requirement; and

a student workstation that presents updated instructional materials using a student workbook generated according to a student profile, wherein the student workbook comprises a software module supplied from a station within the network for displaying and accessing updated instructional materials in accordance with the student profile.

41 . The system of claim 40 , further comprising:

a teacher workstation that selects the instructional material presented at the student workstation using a teacher workbook, wherein the teacher workbook is generated by running a software module that displays an assembly of instructional materials in the database.

42 . The method of claim 41; wherein said teacher workbook displays records associated with a plurality of students, wherein said teacher workbook provides a user interface for a teacher at the teacher workbook to select any one record associated with the plurality of students, a selected record including a listing of one or more instructional materials related to a learning objective associated with the student as specified in the corresponding student profile.

43 . The method of claim 42 , wherein an instructional material is simultaneously presented on the teacher work book and a corresponding student workbook.

44 : The system according to claim 40 , wherein the instructional materials are updated based on state and local needs.
