Methods and devices for analyte detection
View Patent ↗Methods for detecting one or more analytes, such as a protein, in a fluid path are provided. The methods include resolving, immobilizing and detecting one or more analytes in a fluid path, such as a capillary. Also included are devices and kits for performing such assays.
1. A system, comprising:
a fluid path having disposed therein one or more reactive groups configured to non-specifically immobilize one or more analytes in a sample when the one or more reactive groups are activated, the fluid path having a location in which the one or more analytes are immobilized;
a power supply for applying a voltage along at least the location of the fluid path before the one or more analytes are immobilized by the one or more reactive groups, the voltage configured to resolve the one or more analytes in the location of the fluid path; and
a detector configured to detect at least one of the one or more immobilized analytes in the location of the fluid path after the one or more analytes are immobilized.
2. The system of claim 1 , wherein said fluid path comprises one or more capillaries.
3. The system of claim 1 , wherein said fluid path is capable of resolving said analyte by electrophoresis.
4. The system of claim 1 , wherein said reactive groups comprise a photoreactive group.
5. The system of claim 1 , wherein said inducing immobilization is by a light source.
6. The system of claim 1 , wherein said detector comprises a photodetector.
7. The system of claim 1 , wherein said detecting comprises detecting a chemiluminescent signal.
8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the detector is configured to detect a physical property of the one or more analytes.
9. A system, comprising:
a fluid path having disposed therein a reactive group configured to non-specifically immobilize an analyte when the reactive group is activated, the fluid path having a location in which the analyte is immobilized, the fluid path configured to facilitate resolving the analyte in the location of the fluid path prior to the immobilization of the analyte; a power supply for applying a voltage along the fluid path to resolve said analyte in said fluid path and
a detector configured to detect the analyte in the location of the fluid path after the analyte is immobilized.
10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the detector is configured to detect a physical property of the analyte.
