Mobile asset data management system
A vehicle control device is provided to analyze data associated with assets monitored by an asset management system. The system includes a database, a computing unit, software executable by the computing unit, and a display device. The database contains data associated with the monitored assets. The computing unit is in communication with the database. The software is executable by the computing unit and operable to: receive a request to select specific data associated with the assets; and process the selected data to form a dataset based to generate a report of the asset management system. The display device is in communication with the computing unit, and is operable to receive and display at least a portion of the dataset.
1 . A system for analyzing data associated with assets monitored by an asset management system, said system comprising:
a database containing the data associated with the assets being monitored by the asset management system, the data being generated in response to events occurring in association with respective assets;
a computing unit in communication with said database;
software executable by said computing unit and operable to:
receive a request to select specific data associated with the assets; and
process the selected specific data to form a dataset based on the events of the respective assets to generate a report for a user of the asset management system to view; and
a display device in communication with said computing unit and operable to receive and display at least a portion of the dataset based on the events of the respective assets for the user to view.
2 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein said software is further operable to generate a graphical representation of the dataset.
3 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein said database further includes event indicators representative of an event type.
4 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the event indicators include operator identifiers generated in response to operators of the assets interacting with at least one component of the asset management system to utilize the asset.
5 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the event type includes completion of an OSHA related questionnaire.
6 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the event type includes start and stop times of the assets.
7 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the event type includes entry into an unauthorized area for the vehicle.
8 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the event type includes entry into an unauthorized area of an operator of the asset.
9 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the dataset formed by the processing of said software includes data representative of utilization of the assets.
10 . The system according to claim 9 , wherein the utilization includes a value indicative of the peak number of assets used.
11 . A method for analyzing data associated with assets monitored by an asset system, said method comprising:
monitoring events occurring in association with the assets;
generating data associated with the respective assets being monitored and in response to events occurring with respective assets;
communicating the data generated to be stored in a database;
storing the data in the database;
receiving a request to select specific data associated with the assets;
processing the selected specific data to form a dataset based on the events of the respective assets to generate a report for a user of the asset management system to view; and
displaying at least a portion of the dataset based on the events of the respective assets for the user of the asset management system to view.
12 . The method according to claim 11 , further comprising generating a graphical representation of the dataset.
13 . The method according to claim 11 , wherein said generating data includes generating event indicators representative of an event type.
14 . The method according to claim 11 , further comprising displaying an OSHA related questionnaire operable for an operator of an asset to answer.
15 . The method according to claim 11 , wherein said generating of the data includes generating start and stop times of the asset in response to the asset being started and stopped.
16 . The method according to claim 11 , further comprising generating an alert identifier in response to the asset entering an unauthorized area.
17 . The method according to claim 11 , wherein said generating includes forming data representative of utilization of the assets.
18 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein forming data representative of utilization of the assets comprises generating a value indicative of the number of different assets used.
19 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein forming data representative of utilization of the assets comprises generating a value indicative of the peak number of assets used.
20 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein forming data representative of utilization of the assets comprises generating a value indicative of the average number of assets used.
21 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein forming data representative of the utilization of the assets comprises generating an amount of time that the assets are utilized to perform operations.
22 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein the operations include motion time.
23 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein the operations include log-in time.
24 . The method according to claim 17 , wherein the operations include lift time.
25 . The method according to claim 17 , further comprising comparing actual accumulated amount of time that the assets are utilized with planned utilization of the assets.
