Abstract

A middleware messaging system is connected between user devices and content providers possibly through one or more networks. The middleware messaging system includes a coordination manager for coordinating partial messages transmitted between the user devices and the content providers. Partial messages are received by the middleware messaging system from one or more sources through one or more channels. Partial messages that are associated with each other comprise a single context and as such are coordinated and transmitted to one or more destinations through one or more channels.

Claims (17)

1. A method of coordinating partial messages associated with each other, comprising:

receiving a first partial message, at a physical middleware server, from a first network device;

receiving a second partial message, at the physical middleware server, from a second network device different than the first network device;

determining that the first partial message and the second partial message comprise parts of a single context;

responsive to the determination that the first partial message and the second partial message comprise parts of the single context, combining the first partial message with the second partial message into a combined message;

determining that the combined message comprises all of the single context;

responsive to the determination that the combined message comprises all of the single context, coordinating delivery of the combined message comprising the first partial message and the second partial message, to a given destination device; and

responsive to the determination that the combined message does not comprise all of the single context, determining whether to generate a request for one or more partial messages,

wherein the determining whether to generate a request for one or more partial messages comprises detecting a data state associated with a need to request one or more partial messages from a provider.

2. The method of coordinating partial messages associated with each other according to claim 1 , wherein:

the first partial message is received through a first modality; and

the second partial message is received through a second modality different from the first modality.

3. The method of coordinating partial messages associated with each other according to claim 1 , the method further comprising:

responsive to the determination that the combined message does not comprise all of the single context, storing the combined message.

4. The method of coordinating partial messages associated with each other according to claim 1 , the method further comprising:

responsive to the determination to generate the request, transmitting the request for one or more partial messages to the provider; and

responsive to the determination not to generate the request, waiting for receiving one or more partial messages.
