Goal Achievement and Outcome Prevention
A method, software, database and system for determining approaches for an individual to achieve a goal or prevent an undesired outcome are presented in which an attribute profile of the individual containing genetic and non-genetic attributes is compared against a database containing combinations of genetic and non-genetic attributes that are statistically associated with successful goal achievement or outcome prevention in other individuals.
1 . A computer based method for determining an approach to achieve a goal associated with an individual, comprising:
a) receiving a query that is representative of a goal associated with an individual;
b) accessing an attribute profile associated with the individual, the attribute profile comprising pangenetic and non-pangenetic attributes;
c) accessing a database containing a set of attribute combinations associated with achievement of the goal, each attribute combination containing at least one pangenetic attribute;
d) determining one or more approaches to achieve the goal associated with the individual based on at least one comparison of the attribute profile with the set of attribute combinations; and
e) transmitting the determination as output.

The computer based method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting in step (e) is to at least one destination selected from the group consisting of a user, a database, a dataset, a computer readable memory, a computer readable medium, a computer processor, a computer network, a printout device, a visual display, and a wireless receiver.

The computer based method of claim 1 , wherein step (d) further comprises identifying, from the set of attribute combinations, at least one attribute combination containing one or more pangenetic attributes which occur in the attribute profile and one or more modifiable attributes which do not occur in the attribute profile, and wherein step (e) further comprises transmitting the modifiable attributes as output.
4 . The computer based method of claim 1 , wherein the determination transmitted as output comprises one or more modifiable attributes associated with a corresponding potential for achievement of the goal that is greater than or equal to a user specified threshold.
5 . The computer based method of claim 1 , wherein the database also contains corresponding statistical results which indicate the strength of association of each of the attribute combinations with achievement of the goal.
6 . The computer based method of claim 5 , wherein step (e) further comprises transmitting at least a portion of the corresponding statistical results as output to indicate the potential for achievement of the goal associated with the individual using the one or more approaches determined.
7 . The computer based method of claim 5 , wherein step (d) further comprises:
i) rank-ordering the attribute combinations based on the at least one comparison and the corresponding statistical results;
ii) identifying one or more of the attribute combinations that meet a predetermined threshold applied to rank; and
iii) selecting one or more modifiable attributes from at least one of the identified attribute combinations to determine one or more approaches to achieve the goal associated with the individual, wherein the one or more modifiable attributes do not occur in the attribute profile of the individual.
8 . The computer based method of claim 1 , further comprising:
f) associating the output with the individual and storing the association.
9 . The computer based method of claim 1 , wherein the identity of the individual is masked or anonymized.
10 . The computer based method of claim 1 , wherein each of the attribute combinations contains at least one pangenetic attribute, at least one physical attribute, at least one behavioral attribute, and at least one situational attribute.
11 . A computer based method for determining one or more approaches to achieve a goal associated with an individual, comprising:
a) receiving a query that is representative of a goal associated with an individual;
b) accessing an attribute profile associated with the individual, the attribute profile comprising pangenetic and non-pangenetic attributes;
c) accessing a database containing a set of attribute combinations associated with achievement of the goal in other individuals, each of the attribute combinations containing at least one pangenetic attribute;
d) identifying, from the set of attribute combinations, at least one attribute combination containing one or more pangenetic attributes which occur in the attribute profile and one or more modifiable attributes which do not occur in the attribute profile; and
e) transmitting the modifiable attributes as output to provide a determination of one or more approaches to achieve the goal associated with the individual.

The computer based method of claim 11 , wherein the database also contains corresponding statistical results which indicate the strength of association of each of the attribute combinations with achievement of the goal, and wherein step (e) further comprises transmitting at least a portion of the corresponding statistical results as output to indicate the potential for achievement of the goal associated with the individual using the one or more approaches determined.
13 . A database system for determining an approach to achieve a goal associated with an individual, comprising:
a) a memory containing:
i) a first data structure containing an attribute profile associated with the individual, the attribute profile comprising pangenetic and non-pangenetic attributes;
ii) a second data structure containing a database which contains a set of attribute combinations associated with achievement of the goal, each attribute combination containing at least one pangenetic attribute;
b) a processor for:
i) receiving a query that is representative of a goal associated with an individual;
ii) accessing the first data structure;
iii) accessing the second data structure;
iv) determining one or more approaches to achieve the goal associated with the individual based on at least one comparison of the attribute profile contained in the first data structure with the set of attribute combinations contained in the second data structure; and
v) transmitting the determination as output.

The database system of claim 13 , wherein the database also contains corresponding statistical results which indicate the strength of association of each of the attribute combinations with achievement of the goal, and wherein step (v) further comprises transmitting at least a portion of the corresponding statistical results as output to indicate the potential for achievement of the goal associated with the individual using the one or more approaches determined.
15 . A program storage device readable by a machine and containing a set of instructions which, when read by the machine, causes execution of a computer based method for determining an approach to achieve a goal associated with an individual, comprising:
a) receiving a query that is representative of a goal associated with an individual;
b) accessing an attribute profile associated with the individual, the attribute profile comprising pangenetic and non-pangenetic attributes;
c) accessing a database containing a set of attribute combinations associated with achievement of the goal, each attribute combination containing at least one pangenetic attribute;
d) determining one or more approaches to achieve the goal associated with the individual based on at least one comparison of the attribute profile with the set of attribute combinations; and
e) transmitting the determination as output.

The program storage device of claim 15 , wherein step (d) further comprises identifying, from the set of attribute combinations, at least one attribute combination containing one or more pangenetic attributes which occur in the attribute profile and one or more modifiable attributes which do not occur in the attribute profile, and wherein step (e) further comprises transmitting the modifiable attributes as output.
17 . A computer based method for determining a preventive measure of an outcome associated with an individual, comprising:
a) receiving a query that is representative of an outcome associated with an individual;
b) accessing an attribute profile associated with the individual, the attribute profile comprising pangenetic and non-pangenetic attributes;
c) accessing a database containing a set of attribute combinations associated with prevention of the outcome, each attribute combination containing at least one pangenetic attribute;
d) determining one or more preventive measures for the individual based on at least one comparison of the attribute profile with the set of attribute combinations; and
e) transmitting the determination as output.

The computer based method of claim 17 , wherein step (d) further comprises identifying, from the set of attribute combinations, at least one attribute combination containing one or more pangenetic attributes which occur in the attribute profile and one or more modifiable attributes which do not occur in the attribute profile, and wherein step (e) further comprises transmitting the modifiable attributes as output.
19 . The computer based method of claim 17 , wherein the determination transmitted as output comprises one or more modifiable attributes associated with a corresponding potential for prevention of the outcome that is greater than or equal to a user specified threshold.

The computer based method of claim 17 , wherein the database also contains corresponding statistical results which indicate the strength of association of each of the attribute combinations with prevention of the outcome, and wherein step (e) further comprises transmitting at least a portion of the corresponding statistical results as output to indicate the potential for prevention of the outcome associated with the individual using the one or more preventive measures determined.
