Abstract

Disclosed are combination products comprising a packaging means and two separate liquid detergents A and B located in said packaging means. Detergent A contains 10 to 75 percent by weight of detergent builder/s, 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of enzymes, and 24.9 to 89.9 percent of water while detergent B contains 10 to 75 percent by weight of detergent builder/s and 25 to 90 percent by weight of water. The inventive combination products are characterized in that liquid detergent A has a pH value (20° C.) ranging from 6 to 9 while liquid detergent B has a pH value (20° C.) ranging from 9 to 14. Neither detergent A nor detergent B contains more than two percent by weight of a bleaching agent. Compared to conventional dishwashing agents, the inventive combination products are characterized by improved cleaning power, especially on bleachable dirt.

Claims (37)

31 . A combination product comprising packaging and two liquid cleansers or detergents A and B separated from each other in the packaging and comprising:

A: 10% to 75% by weight of a detergent builder,

0.1% to 10% by weight of an enzyme,

24.9% to 89.9% by weight of water; and

B: 10% to 75% by weight of a detergent builder,

25% to 90% by weight of water; and

wherein liquid cleanser or detergent A has a pH at 20° C. of 6 to 9, liquid cleanser or detergent B has a pH at 20° C. of 9 to 14, and neither liquid cleanser or detergent A nor liquid cleanser or detergent B individually comprises more than 2% by weight of a bleaching agent.

32 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B do not comprise a bleaching agent.

33 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein the pH at 20° C. of the liquid cleanser or detergent A differs from the pH at 20° C. of the liquid cleanser or detergent B by at least two pH units.

34 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein the liquid cleanser or detergent A further comprises 0.2% to 10% by weight of a non-ionic surfactant.

35 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein one or both of the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B her comprise an organic solvent.

36 . The combination product of claim 35 , wherein the organic solvent is an organic amino or an alkanol amine, and the weight ratio of water to organic amine or to alkanol amine is greater than 1:1.

37 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein the liquid cleanser or detergent B further comprises 0.01% to 15% by weight of one or more washing-active or cleaning-active polymers.

38 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein one or both of the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B further comprise methyl glycine diacetic acid or a salt of methyl glycine diacetic acid, and wherein the weight of the methyl glycine diacetic acid or of the salt of methyl glycine diacetic acid comprises 0.2% to 12% of the combined weight of the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B.

39 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein the viscosity of at least one of the liquid cleansers or detergents A or B, as determined using a Brookfield Viscosimeter LVT-II at 20 rpm and 20° C. and spindle 3, is 200 to 10,000 mPa·s.

40 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein the packaging comprises a water-insoluble container comprising two or more compartments, and wherein the container further comprises a spout for each compartment.

41 . The combination product of claim 31 , wherein the packaging comprises a water-soluble container having two compartments separated from each other.

42 . A method for removing stains that can be bleached, comprising releasing the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B from the packaging of the combination product of claim 31 , and contacting the stains with the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B.

43 . A method for removing stains that can be bleached, comprising contacting the stains with an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of an organic amine and an alkanol amine.

44 . A method for cleaning one or both of dried-on or baked-on soil, comprising releasing the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B from the packaging of the combination product of claim 31 , and contacting the soil with the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B, optionally in a machine dishwasher.

45 . A machine dishwashing method comprising

dispensing two liquid cleansers or detergents A and B into the interior of a machine dishwasher during the cleaning dishwashing cycle, wherein the liquid detergent A has a pH at 20° C. of 6 to 9 and the liquid detergent B has a pH at 20° C. of 9 to 14 and is dispensed at cleaning cycle time t 2 ; and

wherein the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B comprise, respectively:

A: 10% to 75% by weight of a detergent builder,

0.1% to 10% by weight of an enzyme,

24.9% to 99.9% by weight of a solvent; and

B: 10% to 74.9% by weight of a detergent builder;

25% to 89.9% by weight of a solvent; and

wherein neither liquid cleanser or detergent A nor liquid cleanser or detergent B individually comprises more than 2% by weight of a bleaching agent.

46 . The method of claim 45 , wherein the solvent in at least one of the liquid cleanser or detergents A and B is water.

47 . The method of claim 45 , further comprising a pre-rinse dishwashing cycle and a cleaning dishwashing cycle; and

wherein the two liquid cleansers or detergents A and B are dispensed during the cleaning dishwashing cycle, wherein the liquid detergent A is dispensed at cleaning cycle time t 1 and the liquid detergent B is dispensed at cleaning cycle time t 2 ; and

wherein the solvent is water.

48 . The method of claim 45 , wherein at least one of the liquid cleanser or detergents A and B comprise an organic amino or an alkanol amino.

49 . The method of claim 48 , wherein the alkanol amine is ethanolamine.

50 . The method of claim 45 , wherein the liquid cleansers or detergents A and B do not comprise a bleaching agent.
