Abstract

Cooling channels are milled on the peripheral surface of the individual cartridge chamber(s). Milling the cooling channels on the freely accessible surface makes it possible to simplify production.

Claims (12)

1 . A cartridge chamber for a weapon or revolver cannon, wherein at least one cooling channel is milled on a peripheral surface of the cartridge chamber.

2 . The cartridge chamber in accordance with claim 1 , wherein at least two cooling channels are milled in the surface.

3 . The cartridge chamber in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the cooling channel is helically milled in the surface.

4 . The cartridge chamber in accordance with claim 1 , wherein both a length and a width of the cooling channels are individually selectable.

5 . The cartridge chamber in accordance with claim 1 , wherein several channels are present which are uniformly distributed on the peripheral surface.

6 . The cartridge chamber in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the milled channels are present in one section of the cartridge chamber.

7 . The cartridge chamber in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the cooling channels are closed upon themselves.

8 . The cartridge chamber in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the cooling channels are helically milled as a single channel.

9 . A method for providing cooling channels in a cartridge chamber for a weapon or a revolver cannon, comprising the step of milling at least one cooling channel in a peripheral surface of the cartridge chamber.

10 . A method according to claim 9 , including helically milling the cooling channel in the surface.

11 . A method according to claim 9 , including milling the channels in only one section of the cartridge chamber.

12 . A method according to claim 9 , including milling several channels uniformly distributed on the peripheral surface.
