Abstract

A method may include collecting at least one analyte from within a body, ejecting the collected at least one analyte from the body through at least one dermal layer of the body, and receiving the ejected at least one analyte outside the body. A system may include a means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body, a means for ejecting the collected at least one analyte from the body through at least one dermal layer of the body, and a means for receiving the ejected at least one analyte outside the body.

Claims (89)

1. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body, wherein said means for ejecting includes means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body under high pressure; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body.

2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

means for transferring said at least one analyte from a sampling device within said body to an ejector device within said body.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein said sampling device is located distal to said ejector device and said at least one analyte is transported to said ejector device.

4. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

means for transmitting a location signal enabling an ejector device to be located.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein said location signal comprises at least one of an electrical current, an electrical field, a magnetic flux, an optical signal, a radio frequency identification, an ultrasound, a vibration, an electromagnetic force, a force, or a pressure.

6. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

means for sorting said at least one analyte.

7. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

means for concentrating said at least one analyte.

8. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

means for diluting said at least one analyte.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein said means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body comprises:

means for collecting at least a portion of at least one of cells, proteins, bacteria, blood, a blood component, molecules, viruses, viral particles, pathogens, parasites, malarial parasites, oglionucleotides, lymph, a lymph component, or cerebral spinal fluid.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein said blood component comprises at least one of plasma or serum.

11. The system of claim 1 , wherein said means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body comprises:

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body in a receiving device.

12. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body;

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body; and

means for analyzing said at least one analyte within said body.

13. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body;

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body; and

means for aligning said receiving device with an ejector device.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein said means for aligning said receiving device with an ejector device comprises:

means for locating a fiducial.

15. The system of claim 14 , wherein said body includes said fiducial.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein said fiducial comprises a tattoo.

17. The system of claim 14 , wherein at least one of said ejector device or said receiving device includes said fiducial.

18. The system of claim 17 , wherein said fiducial comprises at least one of a fluorescent marker, a marker having an enhanced radio signature, a radio frequency identification tag, a radio opaque marker, a retroreflector, a magnetic signature, a conductivity signature, or an ultrasonic marker.

19. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body, wherein said means for receiving includes means for analyzing said at least one analyte outside said body.

20. The system of claim 19 , wherein said means for analyzing said at least one analyte outside said body comprises:

means for displaying at least one result of said analyzing said at least one analyte outside said body.

21. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body, wherein said means for ejecting includes:

means for signaling an ejector device within said body; and

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body in response to said signaling using said ejector device within said body; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body.

22. The system of claim 21 , wherein said means for signaling an ejector device within said body comprises:

means for signaling an ejector device within said body using said means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body.

23. The system of claim 22 , wherein said means for signaling an ejector device within said body comprises:

means for moving said means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body into proximity with said ejector device within said body.

24. The system of claim 22 , wherein means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body includes means for transmitting an ejection signal to signal ejector device within said body and said ejector device includes means for receiving an ejection signal transmitted by said means for transmitting an ejection signal.

25. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body;

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body; and

means for transmitting a collected signal indicating that at least one analyte has been collected.

26. The system of claim 25 , wherein said collected signal comprises at least one of an electrical current, an electrical field, a magnetic flux, an optical signal, a radio frequency identification, an ultrasound, a vibration, an electromagnetic signal, a force, or a pressure.

27. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body, wherein said means for ejecting includes means for subjecting said at least one dermal layer of said body to an energy field; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body.

28. The system of claim 27 , wherein said energy field comprises at least one of an electrical energy field and an ultrasonic energy field.

29. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body, wherein said means for ejecting includes means for determining said at least one analyte has reached its useful life wherein said at least one analyte has a useful life; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body.

30. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body,

wherein said means for ejecting includes means for verifying said means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body is in proximity with said means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body prior to ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body.

31. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body, wherein said means for ejecting includes:

means for signaling an ejector device within said body;

means for stopping said ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body using said ejector device within said body in response to said signaling; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body.

32. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body, wherein said means for ejecting includes means for signaling a receiving device when said means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body has finished ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body; and

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body.

33. A system, comprising:

means for collecting at least one analyte from within a body;

means for ejecting said at least one analyte from said body through at least one dermal layer of said body;

means for receiving said at least one analyte outside said body; and

means for transmitting a collected signal indicating at least one of a type of said at least one analyte that has been collected, of a type of said at least one analyte available to be ejected, an amount of said at least one analyte that has been collected, or an amount of said at least one analyte available to be ejected.
