Abstract

A denitrification catalyst regeneration method comprises heat-treating a used denitrification catalyst, then cleaning the denitrification catalyst with an aqueous solution of oxalic acid, and then finish washing the denitrification catalyst with water to regenerate the denitrification catalyst.

Claims (9)

1. A denitrification-catalyst regeneration method, comprising:

denitrifying exhaust gas produced by the combustion of ultraheavy oil with a sulfur content of 1% or higher using a denitrification catalyst, wherein said denitrification step results in the deposit on the surface of the denitrification catalyst of vanadium oxysulfate;

then cleaning the resulting used denitrification catalyst having vanadium oxysulfate on its surface with an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid or an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, thereby producing a denitrification catalyst from which vanadium oxysulfate has been removed; and

then finish-washing said denitrification catalyst with water to regenerate said denitrification catalyst.

2. The denitrification catalyst regeneration method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

roughly washing said denitrification catalyst with water; and

then performing said cleaning of said denitrification catalyst with said aqueous solution of sulfuric acid or said aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid.

3. The denitrification catalyst regeneration method according to claim 1 , wherein an acid concentration of said aqueous solution of sulfuric acid or said aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid is 3 to 12 N.

4. The denitrification catalyst regeneration method according to claim 3 , wherein a temperature of said aqueous solution of sulfuric acid or said aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid is 60 to 90° C.
