Abstract

The present invention provides systems and methods for logically organizing data for storage and recovery on a data storage medium using a multi-level format. The present invention also provides systems and methods for protecting data stored on data storage medium so that the data may be recovered without errors.

67 . A system for storing data comprising:

a data storage medium; and

a plurality of partitions on the data storage medium, wherein two or more of the partitions have data that have different types of error correction codes and/or different amounts of redundancy.

68 . The system of claim 67 , wherein the two or more of the partitions have data that have different types of error correction codes

69 . The system of claim 67 , wherein the two or more of the partitions have data that have different amounts of redundancy.
