Abstract

A weight measurement device is configured and arranged to measure the weight of a measurement object. The weight measurement device includes a container and a wind-guard cover. The container is configured and arranged to receive the measurement object therein. The wind-guard cover is configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the container. The wind-guard cover has a transverse air-blocking part configured and arranged to block an air flow flowing in a transverse direction with respect to the container. The container also is equipped with an air control device that injects temperature-adjusted air into a chamber that accommodates the container and the wind-guard cover.

Claims (76)

1. A weight measurement system for measuring the weight of a measurement object, the weight measurement system comprising:

a container configured and arranged to receive the measurement object therein;

a wind-guard cover configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the container; and

an air control device configured and arranged to distribute a temperature-adjusted air into a chamber that accommodates the container and the wind-guard cover,

the wind-guard cover having a transverse air-blocking part configured and arranged to block an air flow flowing in a transverse direction with respect to the container.

2. The weight measurement system according to claim 1 , further comprising

a raising/lowering device configured and arranged to move at least one of the wind-guard cover and the container so that a relative position of the wind-guard cover with respect to the container is switched between a proximal position and a remote position.

3. The weight measurement system according to claim 2 , further comprising

a control device configured to control an operation of the raising/lowering device and to measure the weight of the measurement object after the relative position of the wind-guard cover with respect to the container is set in the proximal position.

4. The weight measurement system according to claim 2 , wherein

the raising/lowering device has an elastic member and an air cylinder, the elastic member being configured and arranged to urge the wind-guard cover and the container away from each other, the air cylinder being configured and arranged to urge the wind-guard cover and the container towards each other.

5. The weight measurement system according to claim 3 , further comprising

a cover receiving part disposed in at least a part of a periphery around the container at a location that faces the wind-guard cover when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position,

at least one of the wind-guard cover and the cover receiving part having an elastic part at a location where the wind-guard cover and the cover receiving part are adjacent to each other when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position.

6. The weight measurement system according to claim 3 , further comprising

a windbreak part configured and arranged to cover at least a part of the wind-guard cover.

7. The weight measurement system according to claim 3 , further comprising

an additional container,

the wind-guard cover being configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the additional container and the upper space of the container.

8. The weight measurement system according to claim 3 , further comprising

an additional container, and

an additional wind-guard cover configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the additional container.

9. The weight measurement system according to claim 3 , further comprising

an additional container, and

an additional wind-guard cover configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the additional container and the upper space of the container so that at least the upper space of the container is covered by the wind-guard cover and the additional wind-guard cover.

10. The weight measurement system according to claim 3 , further comprising

a movement device configured and arranged to move at least one of the wind-guard cover and the container relative to each other in a direction substantially parallel to a plane extending between the wind-guard cover and the container.

11. The weight measurement system according to claim 2 , further comprising

a cover receiving part including a recess disposed in at least a part of a periphery around the container at a location that faces the wind-guard cover when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position,

at least a part of the wind-guard cover is inserted into the recess when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position.

12. A droplet discharge device comprising:

a stage;

a droplet-discharge head configured and arranged to discharge a liquid material onto a workpiece mounted on a stage while the stage and the droplet-discharge head are moved relative to each other; and

a weight measurement device configured and arranged to measure the weight of the liquid material, the weight measurement device including

a container configured and arranged to receive the liquid material discharged from the droplet-discharge heads,

a wind-guard cover configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the container, and

the wind-guard cover having a transverse air-blocking part configured and arranged to block an air flow flowing in a transverse direction with respect to the container.

13. The droplet discharge device according to claim 12 , wherein

the weight measurement device further includes a raising/lowering device configured and arranged to move at least one of the wind-guard cover and the container so that a relative position of the wind-guard cover with respect to the container is switched between a proximal position and a remote position.

14. The droplet discharge device according to claim 13 , wherein

the weight measurement device further includes a control device configured to control an operation of the raising/lowering device and to measure the weight of the liquid material after the relative position of the wind-guard cover with respect to the container is set in the proximal position.

15. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , wherein

the raising/lowering device has an elastic member and an air cylinder, the elastic member being configured and arranged to urge the wind-guard cover and the container away from each other, the air cylinder being configured and arranged to urge the wind-guard cover and the container towards each other.

16. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , wherein

the weight measurement device further includes a cover receiving part disposed in at least a part of a periphery around the container at a location that faces the wind-guard cover when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position, and

at least one of the wind-guard cover and the cover receiving part has an elastic part at a location where the wind-guard cover and the cover receiving part are adjacent to each other when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position.

17. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , wherein

the weight measurement device further includes a windbreak part configured and arranged to cover at least a part of the wind-guard cover.

18. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , further comprising

an air control device configured and arranged to distribute a temperature-adjusted air into a chamber that accommodates the container and the wind-guard cover.

19. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , wherein

the weight measurement device further includes an additional container, and

the wind-guard cover is configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the additional container and the upper space of the container.

20. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , wherein

the weight measurement device further includes an additional container and an additional wind-guard cover configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the additional container.

21. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , wherein

the weight measurement device further includes an additional container and an additional wind-guard cover configured and arranged to selectively cover an upper space of the additional container and the upper space of the container so that at least the upper space of the container is covered by the wind-guard cover and the additional wind-guard cover.

22. The droplet discharge device according to claim 14 , further comprising

a movement device configured and arranged to move at least one of the wind-guard cover and the container relative to each other in a direction substantially parallel to a plane extending between the wind-guard cover and the container.

23. The droplet discharge device according to claim 13 , further comprising

a cover receiving part including a recess disposed in at least a part of a periphery around the container at a location that faces the wind-guard cover when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position,

at least a part of the wind-guard cover is inserted into the recess when the wind-guard cover is placed in the proximal position.

24. The droplet discharge device according to claim 22 , wherein

the movement device is further configured and arranged to move the container to a location facing the droplet-discharge head and to a location facing the wind-guard cover.

25. The droplet discharge device according to claim 13 , further comprising

a discharged-liquid receiver disposed adjacent to the container.

26. The droplet discharge device according to claim 25 , wherein

the transverse air-blocking part is positioned to be adjacent to or in contact with a location that is not coated with the liquid material received in the discharged-liquid receiver when the relative position of the wind-guard cover with respect to the container is set in the proximal position.

27. A weight measurement method for measuring the weight of a measurement object placed in a container, the weight measurement method comprising:

distributing a temperature-adjusted air into a chamber that accommodates the container and the wind-guard cover;

placing the measurement object in the container;

covering the container with a wind-guard cover to prevent an air flow flowing in a vertical direction and a transverse direction with respect to the container from contacting the container;

measuring the weight of the measurement object; and

removing the wind-guard cover from the container so that a prescribed gap is formed between the wind-guard cover and the container.

28. The weight measurement method according to claim 27 , wherein

the covering of the container includes moving the wind-guard cover and a cover receiving part disposed adjacent to the container to locations facing each other, and then moving the wind-guard cover and the cover receiving part towards each other.
