Abstract

Present invention is related to a composition for conditioning hair comprising two or more optically separated phases when standing at zero shear rate which becomes homogeneous upon shaking. The object of the present invention is a composition for hair comprising 5 to 50%, by weight oil phase, calculated to total composition, and 50 to 95%, by weight, aqueous phase, calculated to total composition, wherein oil phase comprises at least one compound selected from compounds according to general formula wherein R 1 is a phenyl and R 2 is H or a C1 to C4 alkyl and n is a number between 1 and 5 and compounds of dipropylene glycol dibenzoate and trimethylpentanediyl dibenzoate. Further object of the invention is the use of the composition for conditioning hair.

Claims (24)

1 - Two or more phase composition for hair comprising 5 to 50%, by weight of an oil phase, calculated to total composition, and 50 to 95%, by weight of an aqueous phase, calculated to total composition, wherein two or more phases are optically separated at zero shear rate and becomes homogeneous upon shaking and returns again to optically separated two phases upon release of agitation, wherein oil phase comprises at least one compound selected from compounds according to general formula

wherein R 1 is a phenyl and R 2 is H or a C1 to C4 alkyl and n is a number between 1 and 5 and compounds of dipropylene glycol dibenzoate and trimethylpentanediyl dibenzoate.

2 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the compounds according to formula are diethyleneglycol dibenzoate, propylene glycol dibenzoate or triethylene glycol dibenzoate.

3 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the oil phase comprises at least one volatile oil present at 70 to 99.9% by weight calculated to content of the oil phase.

4 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the aqueous phase comprises at least one fixing polymer present at 0.1 to 20% by weight calculated to the content of aqueous phase.

5 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the aqueous phase comprises at least one water miscible organic solvent present at 5 to 40% by weight calculated to the content of aqueous phase.

6 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the aqueous phase comprises at least one cationic surfactant according to general formula

and R 5 and R 6 are independent from each other H or lower alkyl chain with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and X is chloride, bromide or methosulfate.

7 - The composition according to claim 1 further comprising at least one UV filter either in the oil phase or in the aqueous phase.

8 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the aqueous phase has a pH between 3 and 7.

9 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the composition is transparent.

10 - The composition according to claim 1 wherein the composition is a 3 phase composition.

11 - (canceled)

12 - A process for conditioning hair wherein a composition according to claim 1 is applied to wet or shampooed and towel dried hair and without rinsing off hair is dried.
