Abstract

Exemplary embodiments of the present invention include a method for administering devices. Such exemplary embodiments include receiving a domain state object, identifying an action in dependence upon the domain state object, and executing the action. In many exemplary embodiments, receiving a domain state object includes receiving a signal to download the domain state object from a mobile sensor, and downloading the domain state object from the mobile sensor.

Claims (52)

1. A method for administering devices within multiple domains, the domains coupled for data communications, the method comprising:

receiving a user metric from a metric sensor, the user metric having a user identifier, a metric identifier, and a metric value, the user metric describing the user's current condition;

adding the user metric to a domain state object;

identifying an action in dependence upon the domain state object, the action identified using the user identifier, the metric identifier and the metric value, wherein identifying an action in dependence upon the domain state object comprises:

retrieving a current device state object from the domain state object; and

selecting an action ID in dependence upon the current device state object;

identifying a device associated with the action; and

executing the action, wherein executing the action includes communicating with the device associated with the action.

2. The method of claim 1 , and further comprising:

receiving a signal to download the domain state object from a mobile sensor; and

downloading the domain state object from the mobile sensor.

3. The method of claim 1 , and further comprising:

receiving an address of the domain state object from a mobile sensor; and

downloading the domain state object from the address.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising creating a domain metric vector for the second domain in dependence upon the domain state object.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising creating a domain metric action list in dependence upon the domain state object.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising selecting a domain user metric space in dependence upon the domain state object.

7. A system for administering devices, the system comprising two data processing domains, the domains coupled for data communications, the system comprising a computer processor and computer memory, the computer memory including computer program instructions that, when executed by the computer processor, cause the system to perform operations comprising:

receiving a user metric from a metric sensor, the user metric having a user identifier, a metric identifier, and a metric value, the user metric describing the user's current condition;

adding the user metric to a domain state object;

identifying an action in dependence upon the domain state object, the action identified using the user identifier, the metric identifier and the metric value, wherein identifying an action in dependence upon the domain state object comprises:

retrieving a current device state object from the domain state object; and

selecting an action ID in dependence upon the current device state object;

identifying a device associated with the action; and

executing the action, wherein executing the action includes communicating with the device associated with the action.

8. The system of claim 7 wherein receiving the operations further include:

receiving a signal to download the domain state object from a mobile sensor; and

downloading the domain state object from the mobile sensor.

9. The system of claim 7 wherein receiving the operations further include:

receiving an address of the domain state object from a mobile sensor; and

downloading the domain state object from the address.

10. The system of claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise creating a domain metric vector for the second domain in dependence upon the domain state object.

11. The system of claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise creating a domain metric action list in dependence upon the domain state object.

12. The system of claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise selecting a domain user metric space in dependence upon the domain state object.

13. A computer program product for administering devices in two data processing domains, the domains coupled for data communications,

the computer program product stored on a non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer program product comprising computer program instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform operations comprising:

receiving a user metric from a metric sensor, the user metric having a user identifier, a metric identifier, and a metric value, the user metric describing the user's current condition;

adding the user metric to a domain state object;

identifying an action in dependence upon the domain state object, the action identified using the user identifier, the metric identifier and the metric value, wherein identifying an action in dependence upon the domain state object comprises:

retrieving a current device state object from the domain state object; and

selecting an action ID in dependence upon the current device state object;

identifying a device associated with the action; and

executing the action, wherein executing the action includes communicating with the device associated with the action.

14. The computer program product of claim 13 wherein the operations further include:

receiving a signal to download the domain state object from a mobile sensor; and

downloading the domain state object from the mobile sensor.

15. The computer program product of claim 13 wherein the operations further include:

receiving an address of the domain state object from a mobile sensor; and

downloading the domain state object from the address.

16. The computer program product of claim 13 wherein the operations further include creating a domain metric vector for the second domain in dependence upon the domain state object.

17. The computer program product of claim 13 wherein the operations further include creating a domain metric action list in dependence upon the domain state object.

18. The computer program product of claim 13 wherein the operations further include selecting a domain user metric space in dependence upon the domain state object.
