Abstract

Polypeptides having an RNase H activity highly useful in genetic engineering; genes encoding these polypeptides; and a process for genetic engineeringly producing these polypeptides.

Claims (4)

1. An isolated and purified polypeptide having thermostable ribonuclease H activity, which is selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 57;

(b) a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence that shares at least 90% sequence homology with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 57.

2. An isolated and purified polypeptide having thermostable ribonuclease H activity, which is encoded by plasmid pTCE207 (FERM BP-7694).
