Abstract

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus extracts face images of persons from video content data and outputs timestamp information indicating time points at which each extracted face image appears in the video content data, and displays face images in each column of a plurality of face image display areas arranged in a matrix based on the time stamp information. The apparatus detects presence or absence of a face area in each frame consisting of the video content data and decides a cutout range of the detected face area. And, the apparatus adjusts a case in which the cutout range of the decided face area protrudes outside the frame.

Claims (20)

1. An electronic apparatus, comprising:

a face image extraction module configured to extract face images of persons from video content data, and to output timestamp information indicating time points at which each extracted face image appears in the video content data; and

a face image list display module configured to display face images, in each column of a plurality of face image display areas respectively, belonging to a time zone assigned to each column of the plurality of face image display areas side-by-side based on the time stamp information, the plurality of face image display areas being included in a two-dimensional display area and being arranged in a matrix including a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns to which a plurality of time zones consisting of a total time length of the video content data are assigned,

the face image extraction module including:

a face image detection module configured to detect presence or absence of a face area in each frame consisting of the video content data, and to decide a cutout range of the detected face area; and

an adjustment module configured to adjust a case in which the cutout range of the face area decided by the face image detection module protrudes outside the frame.

2. The electronic apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the adjustment module of the face image extraction module masks a defective part outside the frame with a prescribed color.

3. The electronic apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the adjustment module of the face image extraction module masks a defective part with a color at a periphery of an outline of a face inside the frame.

4. The electronic apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the adjustment module of the face image extraction module moves the cutout range so as to fit the cutout range into the frame.

5. The electronic apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the adjustment module of the face image extraction module reduces the cutout range so as to fit the cutout range into the frame.

6. A face image extraction control method of an electronic apparatus including a function to display a list of face images of persons appearing in video content data, the method comprising:

extracting face images of persons from video content data and outputting timestamp information indicating time points at which each extracted face image appears in the video content data; and

displaying face images, in each column of a plurality of face image display areas respectively, belonging to a time zone assigned to each column of a plurality of face image display areas side-by-side based on the time stamp information, the plurality of face image display areas being included in a two-dimensional display area and being arranged in a matrix including a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns to which a plurality of time zones consisting of a total time length of the video content data are assigned,

the extracting face images including:

detecting presence or absence of a face area in each frame consisting of the video content data, and deciding a cutout range of the detected face area; and

adjusting a case in which the cutout range of the decided face area protrudes outside the frame.

7. The face image extraction control method of claim 6 , wherein the adjusting of the extracting face images masks a defective part outside the frame with a prescribed color.

8. The face image extraction control method of claim 7 , wherein the adjusting of the extracting face images masks the defective part with a color at a periphery of an outline of a face inside the frame.

9. The face image extraction control method of claim 6 , wherein the adjusting of the extracting face images moves the cutout range so as to fit the cutout range into the frame.

10. The face image extraction control method of claim 6 , wherein the adjusting of the extracting face images reduces the cutout range so as to fit the cutout range into the frame.
