DYNAMIC MEASURE POSITION REQUEST PROCESSING IN A MOBILE RADIO NETWORK
An implementation of a system, device and method for communicating location data of a mobile station, enhancing location data, optimally communicating Assistance Data, and/or reducing rebids of Measure Position Request messages in a wireless network.
1 . A method of enhancing location data of a mobile station in a wireless network, the method, in the mobile station, comprising:
receiving a Measure Position Request message comprising a network accuracy and a network response time;
selecting an accuracy between the network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy
determining location data of the mobile station using the selected accuracy;
forming a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises the location data;
transmitting the Measure Position Response message.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an uncertainty of greater than 100 meters.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an uncertainty of less than 10 meters.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an uncertainty of 0 meters.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the act of selecting comprises determining whether a rebid previously occurred.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
10 . A method of enhancing location data of a mobile station in a wireless network, the method, in a network, comprising:
selecting an accuracy between a network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy;
transmitting a Measure Position Request message comprising the selected accuracy and a network response time; and
receiving a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises a location data.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an uncertainty of greater than 100 meters.
13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.
14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an uncertainty of less than 10 meters.
15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an uncertainty of 0 meters.
16 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the act of selecting comprises determining the selected accuracy base on whether a rebid previously occurred.
17 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
18 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
19 . A mobile station for enhancing location data of the mobile station in a wireless network, the mobile station comprising:
a receiver to receive a Measure Position Request message comprising a network accuracy and a network response time;
logic to select an accuracy between the network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy
a location engine to determine location data of the mobile station using the selected accuracy;
logic to form a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises the location data;
a transmitter to transmit the Measure Position Response message.
20 . The mobile station of claim 19 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
21 . The mobile station of claim 19 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.
22 . The mobile station of claim 19 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
23 . The mobile station of claim 19 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
24 . A network for enhancing location data of a mobile station in a wireless network, the network comprising:
logic to select an accuracy between a network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy;
a transmitter to transmit a Measure Position Request message comprising the selected accuracy and a network response time; and
a receiver to receive a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises a location data.
25 . The network of claim 24 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
26 . The network of claim 24 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.
27 . The network of claim 24 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
28 . The network of claim 24 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
29 . A mobile station for enhancing location data of the mobile station in a wireless network, the mobile station comprising:
means for receiving a Measure Position Request message comprising a network accuracy and a network response time;
means for selecting an accuracy between the network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy
means for determining location data of the mobile station using the selected accuracy;
means for forming a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises the location data;
means for transmitting the Measure Position Response message.
30 . The mobile station of claim 29 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
31 . The mobile station of claim 29 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.
32 . The mobile station of claim 29 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
33 . The mobile station of claim 29 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
34 . A network for enhancing location data of a mobile station in a wireless network, the network comprising:
means for selecting an accuracy between a network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy;
means for transmitting a Measure Position Request message comprising the selected accuracy and a network response time; and
means for receiving a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises a location data.
35 . The network of claim 34 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
36 . The network of claim 34 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.
37 . The network of claim 34 , wherein the means for selecting comprises means for determining the selected accuracy base on whether a rebid previously occurred.
38 . The network of claim 34 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
39 . The network of claim 34 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
40 . A computer-readable product comprising a computer-readable medium comprising:
code for causing at least one computer to receive a Measure Position Request message comprising a network accuracy and a network response time;
code for causing at least one computer to select an accuracy between the network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy
code for causing at least one computer to determine location data of the mobile station using the selected accuracy;
code for causing at least one computer to form a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises the location data;
code for causing at least one computer to transmit the Measure Position Response message.
41 . The computer-readable product of claim 40 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
42 . The computer-readable product of claim 40 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.
43 . The computer-readable product of claim 40 , wherein the code for causing at least one computer to determine location data of the mobile station using the selected accuracy comprises code for causing at least one computer to determine whether a rebid previously occurred.
44 . The computer-readable product of claim 40 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
45 . The computer-readable product of claim 40 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
46 . A computer-readable product comprising a computer-readable medium comprising:
code for causing at least one computer to select an accuracy between a network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy;
code for causing at least one computer to transmit a Measure Position Request message comprising the selected accuracy and a network response time; and
code for causing at least one computer to receive a Measure Position Response message responsive to the Measure Position Request message, wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises a location data.
47 . The computer-readable product of claim 46 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy less than the network accuracy.
48 . The computer-readable product of claim 46 , wherein the temporary accuracy represents an accuracy greater than the network accuracy.

The computer-readable product of claim 46 , wherein the code for causing at least one computer to select an accuracy between a network accuracy and a temporary accuracy different from the network accuracy comprises code for causing at least one computer to determine the selected accuracy base on whether a rebid previously occurred.
50 . The computer-readable product of claim 46 , wherein the Measure Position Request message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Request message.
51 . The computer-readable product of claim 46 , wherein the Measure Position Response message comprises an RRLP Measure Position Response message.
