Abstract

Methods of treating blood disorders are described.

Claims (18)

1. A method for treating a blood disorder in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to said subject an effective amount of a compound comprising:

wherein the blood disorder to be treated is selected from the group consisting of anemia, sickle cell anemia, .beta.-thalassemia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal hemoglobin production.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal hematopoiesis.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal erythropoiesis.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal myelopoiesis.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound stimulates neutrophil production.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound is administered in combination with one or more cytokines.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein said one or more cytokine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of EPO, IL-3, GM-CSF, G-CSF, SCF and IL-6.

9. A method for treating a blood disorder in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to said subject an effective amount of a compound comprising:

wherein the blood disorder to be treated is selected from the group consisting of anemia, sickle cell anemia, .beta.-thalassemia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal hemoglobin production.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal hematopoiesis.

12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal erythropoiesis.

13. The method of claim 9 , wherein the compound stimulates fetal myelopoiesis.

14. The method of claim 9 , wherein the compound stimulates neutrophil production.

15. The method of claim 9 , wherein the compound is administered in combination with one or more cytokines.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein said one or more cytokine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of EPO, IL-3, GM-CSF, G-CSF, SCF and IL-6.
