Abstract

The present invention relates to a transcription factor of MHC class II genes and its derivatives, inhibitors down-regulating the expression of MHC class II molecules, process to identify these inhibitors and medical uses of these inhibitors.

Claims (10)

1 . A method of restoring expression of at least one MHC-II molecule in a cell from an MHC-II deficiency patient in complementation group B, said method comprising contacting said cell with an isolated polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 11.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more MHC-II molecules is selected from HLA-DR, HLA-DP and HLA-DQ.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide consists of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 11.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the expression of the MHC-II molecule on a cell surface is measured.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the expression of mRNA encoding the MHC-II molecule is measured.

6 . A method of restoring expression of at least one MHC-II molecule in a cell from an MHC-II deficiency patient in complementation group B, said method comprising contacting said cell with an isolated nucleic acid comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 10.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the one or more MHC-II molecules is selected from HLA-DR, HLA-DP and HLA-DQ.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the nucleic acid consists of the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 10.

9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the expression of the MHC-II molecule on a cell surface is measured.

10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the expression of mRNA encoding the MHC-II molecule is measured.
