Abstract

The present invention relates to an ink jet recording method for recording a white overlaying layer and a pattern layer on a longitudinal film base material, printed matters obtained by the recording method, and systems for realizing the recording method thereof.

Claims (20)

1. An ink jet recording method in which a printing image including a white ink layer and a non-white ink layer is recorded to a recording medium, the method comprising:

(A) in a case where the recording medium is opaque, providing the white ink layer and providing the non-white ink layer to the white ink layer so that resolution per unit area of the non-white ink layer becomes lower than resolution per unit area of the white ink layer; or

(B) in a case where the recording medium is transparent, providing the non-white ink layer and providing the white ink layer to the non-white ink layer so that resolution per unit area of the white ink layer becomes higher than resolution of the non-white ink layer,

wherein a resolution per unit inch of the white ink layer is 600 dpi or more.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein a plurality of printing units are successively recorded in a state in which the printing units are disposed to be separate away from one another.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein a position to discharge the non-white ink layer to the white ink layer is determined by a recording position confirmation mechanism.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the non-white ink layer is a color ink layer or a black or gray ink layer.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the white ink layer is provided so as to cover all over the whole non-white ink layer provided on a surface of the transparent recording medium.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said white ink layer comprises white ink composition, said white ink composition comprises one of hollow polymer fine particles and a porous inorganic pigment as a colorant.

7. The method according to claim 1 , the recording medium having an ink reception layer being used.

8. A printed matter which is obtained by the method according to claim 1 .

The method according to claim 1 , wherein, in the case where the recording medium is opaque, a size of an ink droplet discharged from a first liquid discharge head providing the white ink layer is either larger or smaller than that of an ink droplet discharged from a second liquid discharge head providing the non-white ink layer.

The method according to claim 1 , wherein, in the case where the recording medium is transparent, a size of an ink droplet discharged from a first liquid discharge head providing the non-white ink layer is either larger or smaller than that of an ink droplet discharged from a second liquid discharge head providing the white ink layer.

11. The method according to claim 1 , wherein an ink discharge amount per unit area of the white ink layer is larger than an ink discharge amount per unit area of the non-white ink layer.

12. The method according to claim 1 , wherein, in the method (A), the non-white ink layer is provided on the dry white ink layer after the white ink layer had been dried.

13. The method according to claim 1 , wherein, in the method (B), the white ink layer is provided on the dry non-white ink layer after the non-white ink layer had been dried.

14. The method according to claim 1 , wherein a resolution per unit inch of the non-white ink layer is 180 dpi or more.

15. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the resolution per unit inch of the white ink layer is 600 to 9600 dpi.

16. The method according to claim 1 , wherein a resolution per unit inch of the non-white ink layer is 180 to 1440 dpi.

The method according to claim 1 , wherein the white ink layer and the non-white ink layer are recorded to the recording medium by a plurality of liquid discharge heads, the white ink later being provided by a first one of the liquid discharge heads, and the non-white ink later being provided by a second one of the liquid discharge heads.
