Abstract

A overmold fitting is coupled to a fluid conduit. The overmold fitting may include a first portion and a spaced apart second portion proximate a first end of the fluid conduit. The first portion may be an end ring and the second portion may be a retention ring. The overmold fitting may include a visual indicator to provide an indication of the fluid to be used with the fluid conduit.

Claims (34)

1. A supply line for coupling to a fitting having a receptacle, the supply line including:

a fluid conduit having a first end, a second end, and a fluid passageway passing therethrough;

an overmolded end ring coupled to the first end of the fluid conduit, the overmolded end ring permitting the passage of fluid into the fluid passageway of the fluid conduit;

an overmolded retention ring coupled to the fluid conduit proximate the first end and spaced apart from the overmolded end ring, the retention ring having an outer perimeter greater than the outer perimeter of the conduit; and

a retainer having a first position such that the retainer simultaneously radially overlaps both the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring.

2. The supply line of claim 1 , further including:

a seal received proximate the first end of the fluid conduit, the seal being generally positioned between the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring and contacting an exterior surface of the fluid conduit.

3. The supply line of claim 2 , wherein a portion of the overmolded retention ring extends through an opening in the retainer in a direction away from the first end of the fluid conduit and the portion includes a visual indicator to provide an indication of a temperature of the fluid for use with the fluid conduit.

4. The supply line of claim 2 , wherein the overmolded retention ring includes at least one protrusion which engages the retainer.

5. The supply line of claim 1 , wherein the fluid conduit is flexible.

6. The supply line of claim 5 , wherein the fluid conduit is made from a polymeric material.

7. The supply line of claim 6 , wherein the fluid conduit is made of a cross-linked polyethylene material.

8. The supply line of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring includes a visual indicator to provide an indication of a characteristic of the fluid for use with the fluid conduit.

9. The supply line of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring includes a visual indicator to provide an indication of a temperature of the fluid for use with the fluid conduit.

10. A supply line for coupling to a fitting having a receptacle, the supply line including:

a fluid conduit having a first end, a second end, and a fluid passageway passing therethrough;

an overmolded end ring coupled to the first end of the fluid conduit, the overmolded end ring permitting the passage of fluid into the fluid passageway of the fluid conduit, the overmolded end ring defining a first outermost diameter;

an overmolded retention ring coupled to the fluid conduit proximate the first end and spaced apart from the overmolded end ring, the overmolded retention ring defining a second outermost diameter, the second outermost diameter being different than the first outermost diameter, the overmolded retention ring defining a first innermost diameter equal to the first outermost diameter.

11. The supply line of claim 10 , wherein the fluid conduit has a third outermost diameter equal to the first outermost diameter.

12. The supply line of claim 10 , wherein the second outermost diameter is greater than the first outermost diameter.

13. A supply line for coupling to a fitting having a receptacle, the supply line including:

a fluid conduit having a first end, a second end, and a fluid passageway passing therethrough;

an overmolded end ring coupled to the first end of the fluid conduit, the overmolded end ring permitting the passage of fluid into the fluid passageway of the fluid conduit;

an overmolded retention ring coupled to the fluid conduit proximate the first end and spaced apart from the overmolded end ring; and

a threaded retainer having a first position such that the retainer simultaneously radially overlaps both the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring.

14. The supply line of claim 13 , further including:

a seal received proximate the first end of the fluid conduit, the seal being generally positioned between the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring and contacting an exterior surface of the fluid conduit.

15. The supply line of claim 14 , wherein a portion of the overmolded retention ring extends through an opening in the retainer in a direction away from the first end of the fluid conduit and the portion includes a visual indicator to provide an indication of a temperature of the fluid for use with the fluid conduit.

16. The supply line of claim 14 , wherein the overmolded retention ring includes at least one protrusion which engages the retainer.

17. The supply line of claim 13 , wherein the fluid conduit is flexible.

18. The supply line of claim 17 , wherein the fluid conduit is made from a polymeric material.

19. The supply line of claim 18 , wherein the fluid conduit is made of a cross-linked polyethylene material.

20. The supply line of claim 13 , wherein at least one of the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring includes a visual indicator to provide an indication of a characteristic of the fluid for use with the fluid conduit.

21. The supply line of claim 13 , wherein at least one of the overmolded end ring and the overmolded retention ring includes a visual indicator to provide an indication of a temperature of the fluid for use with the fluid conduit.
