TOOTH MOVEMENT TRACKING SYSTEM
A method for determining movement of a tooth model from a first position to a second position, comprising: marking one or more points on the tooth model at the first position using a laser; capturing a first image of the tooth model at the first position; identifying first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image; capturing a second image of the tooth model at the second position; identifying second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image; and determining a difference in the first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image and the second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image.
1 . A method for determining movement of a tooth model from a first position to a second position, comprising:
marking one or more points on the tooth model at the first position using a laser;
capturing a first image of the tooth model at the first position;
identifying first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image;
capturing a second image of the tooth model at the second position;
identifying second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image; and
determining a difference in the first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image and the second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein marking comprises center marking.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein marking comprises circular center marking.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein marking comprises dot point marking.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein marking comprises removing a minute amount of material from a surface of the tooth model.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein marking comprises a spot shaped indentation.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining a difference comprises overlaying the first image on the second image.
8 . A method for determining movement of a tooth model from a first position to a second position, comprising:
marking one or more points on the tooth model at the first position using reflective markers;
capturing a first image of the tooth model at the first position;
identifying first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image;
capturing a second image of the tooth model at the second position;
identifying second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image; and
determining a difference in the first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image and the second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the reflective markers comprise sparkles.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein marking comprises painting.
11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein capturing comprises saving with computer software.
12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein determining a difference comprises using computer software to determine a difference.
13 . A method for determining movement of a tooth model from a first position to a second position, comprising:
attaching light emitting diodes to one or more points on the tooth model at the first position;
capturing a first image of the tooth model at the first position;
identifying first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image;
capturing a second image of the tooth model at the second position;
identifying second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image; and
determining a difference in the first locations of the points on the tooth model in the first image and the second locations of the points on the tooth model in the second image.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein determining a difference comprises using triangulation to determine a difference.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the light emitting diodes comprise infra-red light emitting diodes.
16 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the light emitting diodes comprise Pulsed light emitting diodes.
17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein capturing comprises capturing with video cameras attached to a computer.
18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein capturing comprises capturing with reflective optical motion capture systems.
19 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the points comprise points on a buccal side, a lingual side, and an occlusal side.
