ALKALINE BATTERY
An alkaline battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and an alkaline electrolyte. The positive electrode includes nickel oxyhydroxide and manganese dioxide as a positive electrode active material. The negative electrode includes at least zinc as a negative electrode active material. The content of indium in the negative electrode active material is 0.02 wt % or less.
1 . An alkaline battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and an alkaline electrolyte, wherein
said positive electrode includes nickel oxyhydroxide and manganese dioxide as a positive electrode active material,
said negative electrode includes at least zinc as a negative electrode active material, and
a content of indium in said negative electrode active material is 0.02 wt % or less.
2 . The alkaline battery in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said negative electrode active material contains at least one selected from 0.001 to 0.02 wt % of aluminum and 0.001 to 0.015 wt % of bismuth.
3 . The alkaline battery in accordance with claim 2 , wherein said negative electrode active material contains 0.001 to 0.02 wt % of calcium.

The alkaline battery in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said negative electrode or said alkaline electrolyte includes at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a tetramethylammonium compound, a tetraethylammonium compound, and a tetrapropylammonium compound in an amount of 0.002 to 0.02 part by weight per 100 parts by weight of said negative electrode active material.
5 . The alkaline battery in accordance with claim 4 , wherein said at least one compound is a hydroxide.
6 . The alkaline battery in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said negative electrode or said alkaline electrolyte includes an anionic surfactant having an alkyl group in an amount of 0.01 to 0.5 part by weight per 100 parts by weight of said negative electrode active material.
7 . The alkaline battery in accordance with claim 6 , wherein said anionic surfactant is an alkane sulfonic acid with a carbon number of 5 to 18 or a salt thereof.
