Indole compounds
View Patent ↗Indole derivatives that are useful for treating pain, inflammation and other conditions are described. Certain of the compounds are benzyl derivatives and others are benzoyl derivatives. The compounds are substituted at least at the 3 position of the indole.
1. A compound having a formula or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
wherein:
Q 1 is N and Q 2 , Q 3 , Q 4 and Q 5 are C;
a) P 1 , P 2 , P 3 , P 4 , P 5 and P 6 are C; or b) one of P 1 , P 2 , P 3 , P 4 , P 5 and P 6 is N and the rest are C; A and A′ taken together are ═O;
R 2 is C1-C3 alkyl;
each of R 4 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 is independently: H, a halogen, —NO 2 , —CN, —C(O)OH, hydroxyl, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 5 alkyl, an optionally independently substituted C 2 -C 5 alkenyl, an optionally independently substituted C 2 -C 5 alkynyl, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 5 alkoxy, —C(O)NR a R b , or —NR a R b , wherein R a and R b are independently H, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 6 alkyl, or an optionally independently substituted C 3 -C 6 cycloalkyl;
each of R 8 , R 9 , R 10 , R 11 and R 12 , when bonded to C, is independently: H, a halogen, —NO 2 , —CN, —C(O)OH, hydroxyl, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 5 alkyl, an optionally independently substituted C 2 -C 5 alkenyl, an optionally independently substituted C 2 -C 5 alkynyl, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 5 alkoxy, —C(O)NR a R b , or —NR a R b , wherein R a and R b are independently H, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 6 alkyl, or an optionally independently substituted C 3 -C 6 cycloalkyl;
each of R 8 , R 9 , R 10 R 11 and R 12 , when bonded to N, is missing;
R 14 is selected from H, a halogen, —NO 2 , —CN, —C(O)OH, hydroxyl, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 5 alkyl, an optionally independently substituted C 2 -C 5 alkenyl, an optionally independently substituted C 2 -C 5 alkynyl, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 5 alkoxy, —C(O)NR a R b , or —NR a R b , wherein R a and R b are independently H, an optionally independently substituted C 1 -C 6 alkyl, or an optionally independently substituted C 3 -C 6 cycloalkyl;
R 16 is halogen or an optionally independently substituted methoxy and both R 13 and R 17 are H; and
R 15 is missing.
2. The compound of claim 1 , wherein one of P 1 , P 2 , P 3 , P 4 , P 5 and P 6 is N and the rest are C.
3. The compound of claim 1 , wherein P 1 , P 2 , P 3 , P 4 , P 5 and P 6 are C.
4. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 2 is methyl.
5. The compound of claim 1 , wherein one or two of R 8 , R 9 , R 10 , R 11 and R 12 are halogen and the rest are H.
6. The compound of claim 5 , wherein one or two of R 8 , R 9 , R 10 , R 11 and R 12 are Cl or F and the rest are H.
7. The compound of claim 5 , wherein R 10 is halogen.
8. The compound of claim 7 , wherein R 10 is Cl or F and R 8 , R 9 , R 11 and R 12 are H.
9. The compound of claim 5 , wherein one of R 8 and R 12 is halogen and the other is H.
10. The compound of claim 5 , wherein R 10 is Cl or F, R 8 is Cl or F; and R 9 , R 11 and R 12 are H.
11. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 4 and R 7 are H.
12. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 6 is H.
13. The compound of either one of claims 11 and 12 wherein R 5 is selected from ethoxy, methoxy, ethyl, methyl, halogen and H.
14. The compound of claim 13 , wherein R 5 is selected from methoxy, methyl and H.
15. The compound of claim 14 , wherein R 5 is methoxy.
16. The compound of claim 14 , wherein R 5 is methyl.
17. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 16 is —OCH 3 .
