Abstract

An electro-optical device of the present invention includes pixel electrodes, TFTs electrically connected to the pixel electrodes, and scanning lines and data lines connected to the TFTs on a TFT array substrate. Each scanning line has a broad width portion as a gate electrode in a portion facing a channel area of the TFT and the narrow width portion. As a result, an electro-optical device capable of easily adjusting an arrangement of the gate electrodes and the scanning lines and at the same time precisely driving the TFTs is provided.

Claims (9)

1. An electro-optical device, comprising:

a thin-film transistor having a semiconductor layer;

a data line extending in a first direction and overlapping the semiconductor layer, the data line having a narrow-width portion and a broad-width portion that is wider than the narrow-width portion, the broad-width portion overlapping a channel area of the semiconductor layer; and

a capacitive line extending in the first direction and overlapping the data line,

wherein in the first direction, the capacitive line overlaps the broad-width portion of the data line, and the semiconductor layer, and

the capacitive line is wider than the narrow-width portion of the data line in which the semiconductor layer is not provided.

2. The electro-optical device according to claim 1 , further comprising a contact hole electrically connecting the data line and the thin-film transistor, the contact hole being positioned in a portion of the broad-width portion of the data line.

3. The electro-optical device according to claim 1 , further comprising a scanning line extending in a second direction that intersects the first direction, the capacitive line extending in the second direction and overlapping the scanning line.

4. The electro-optical device according to claim 3 , wherein the scanning line includes a broad-width portion in a portion of the scanning line that overlaps the channel area and a narrow-width portion in another portion of the scanning line, the broad-width portion of the scanning line extending in the first direction and overlapping the broad-width portion of the data line.
