MEDIA CARTRIDGE HAVING MEDIA DRIVE COUPLING TO PRINTER
A media cartridge is provided which is arranged to be removably mounted in juxtaposition to a printer and has a casing, a roll of print media rotatably housed in the casing, and a print media delivery arrangement housed in the casing and having a roller. The casing has a door which is arranged to be opened to enable the roll of print media to be contacted by a driven roller mounted to a pivotal carrier of the printer and the roller of the print media delivery arrangement to couple with a drive motor of the printer.
1 . A media cartridge, the cartridge being arranged to be removably mounted in juxtaposition to a printer and comprising:
a casing;
a roll of print media rotatably housed in the casing; and
a print media delivery arrangement housed in the casing and having a roller,
wherein the casing has a door which is arranged to be opened to enable the roll of print media to be contacted by a driven roller mounted to a pivotal carrier of the printer and the roller of the print media delivery arrangement to couple with a drive motor of the printer.
2 . A cartridge as claimed in claim 1 wherein a bearing arrangement rotatably supports the roll of print media in the casing.
3 . A cartridge as claimed in claim 1 wherein the print media delivery arrangement further has a pinch roller.
4 . A cartridge as claimed in claim 1 wherein the print media is fed from the roll past a printhead of the printer.
