Herbicidal composition and method of use thereof
View Patent ↗The present invention relates to a herbicidal composition comprising mesotrione and a pyridine herbicide such as dithiopyr, triclopyr, fluoroxypyr or thiazopyr. The invention also relates to methods of controlling the growth of weeds, and to the use of this composition.
1. A method for selectively controlling or modifying the growth of white clover present in turfgrass, comprising applying to the locus of the white clover a synergistically herbicidally effective amount of a composition comprising a mixture of mesotrione and triclopyr and wherein the combined amount of mesotrione and triclopyr applied to the locus of the weeds is between about 0.1 kg/ha and about 0.5 kg/ha, and wherein the weight ratio between the mesotrione and the triclopyr is between about 1:1.4 to about 1.4:1.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is applied (i) pre-emergence or (ii) post-emergence.
