Abstract

A method can include receiving a plurality of unperfected logs via a network, storing the plurality of unperfected logs in a database based on the anticipated broadcast schedule, transmitting at least one unperfected log by the electronic hub, receiving an inquiry into one or more spots in the available inventory, transmitting data associated with the one or more spots the data to be displayed on a graphical user interface in response to the inquiry, receiving a selection of one or more spots in the available inventory in response, and requesting content related to the selected one or more spots. The method can include receiving and associating advertising content with the selection of the one or more spots, creating a perfected log based on the unperfected log and the received content, monitoring a broadcast of the media outlet, detecting a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast, and transmitting status information.

1. A method comprising:

(a) receiving a plurality of unperfected logs at an electronic hub via a network, each unperfected log associated with a media outlet and each unperfected log indicating available advertising inventory of the media outlet, a portion of the available advertising inventory indicated as reserved inventory, and an anticipated broadcast schedule of the media outlet's available advertising inventory and programming content for a daypart;

(b) storing the plurality of unperfected logs in a database based on the anticipated broadcast schedule of the media outlet's available advertising inventory and programming content for the daypart, where the database is part of the electronic hub that is operatively coupled to the network;

(c) transmitting at least one of the plurality of unperfected logs by the electronic hub, the transmitted at least one unperfected log associated with a selected media outlet;

(d) receiving, at the electronic hub, an inquiry by a media content provider into one or more spots in the available inventory;

(e) in response to the inquiry, transmitting data associated with the one or more spots by the electronic hub to the media content provider;

(f) receiving, at the electronic hub, a selection by the media content provider of one or more spots in the available inventory in response to the transmitted data;

(g) in response to receiving the selection, requesting, by the electronic hub, the media content provider to provide advertising content related to the selected one or more spots;

(h) receiving, at the electronic hub, advertising content from the media content provider;

(i) associating, at the electronic hub, the advertising content with the selection of the one or more spots;

(j) creating, by the electronic hub, a perfected log based on the unperfected log and the received advertising content;

(k) monitoring, at the electronic hub, a broadcast of the selected media outlet;

(l) detecting, at the electronic hub, a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast;

(m) transmitting, by the electronic hub, status information based on a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast;

(n) in response to detecting a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast, classifying, at the electronic hub, the advertising content as

with exception, the difference including at least one of an error in a broadcast of the advertising content and the advertising content being broadcast at a different time than scheduled; and

(o) in response to classifying the advertising content, scheduling a broadcast of the advertising content.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising reserving at least a portion of the advertising inventory based on a request from an advertiser and determining if the advertiser selects the reserved portion.

3. The method of claim 1 further comprising receiving a request to modify the perfected log and preemption content and based on rules implementing the preemption or denying the preemption.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the status information is transmitted based on a predetermined delay period.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising verifying quality of the advertising content.

6. The method of claim 2 further comprising modifying the unperfected log if the advertiser did not select the reserved inventory.

7. The method of claim 6 further comprising transmitting a notification indicating a release of reserved inventory based on the modified unperfected log.

8. The method of claim 3 further comprising determining if the preemption content was broadcast and transmitting the determination.

9. A system comprising:

a processor operatively coupled to a network; and

a database operatively coupled to the processor,

wherein the processor is adapted to:

receive a plurality of unperfected logs of anticipated broadcasting schedules, the unperfected logs including available inventory associated with a plurality of remote media outlets, a portion of the available inventory indicated as reserved inventory, and anticipated broadcast schedules of the available inventory and programming content for at least one of the plurality of remote media outlets for a daypart;

store the plurality of unperfected logs in the database based on the anticipated broadcast schedule of the available inventory and programming content for at least one of the plurality of remote media outlets for the daypart;

transmit at least one of the plurality of unperfected logs, the transmitted at least one unperfected log associated with a selected media outlet;

receive an inquiry by a content provider into one or more spots in the available inventory;

in response to the inquiry, transmit data associated with the one or more spots to the content provider;

receive a selection by the content provider of one or more spots in the available inventory in response to the transmitted data;

request the content provider to provide advertising content related to the selected one or more spots;

receive advertising content from the content provider;

associate the advertising content with the selection of the one or more spots;

create a perfected log based on the unperfected log and the received advertising content;

monitor a broadcast of the selected media outlet;

detect a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast;

transmit status information based on a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast;

in response to detecting a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast, classify the advertising content as

with exception, the difference including at least one of an error in a broadcast of the advertising content and the advertising content being broadcast at a different time than scheduled; and

in response to classifying the advertising content, schedule a broadcast of the advertising content.

10. The system of claim 9 wherein the available inventory includes inventory reserved for an advertiser and the processor is further adapted to determine if the advertiser selected the reserved inventory.

11. The system of claim 9 wherein the processor is further adapted to receive a request to modify the perfected log and preemption content and, based on rules, implement the preemption or denying the preemption.

12. The system of claim 9 wherein the processor is further adapted to transmit for display the classifications of the inserted media content.

13. The system of claim 10 wherein the processor is further adapted to modify the unperfected log if the advertiser did not select the reserved inventory.

14. The system of claim 10 wherein the processor is further adapted to transmit a notification indicating a release of reserved inventory based on the modified unperfected log.

15. A non-transitory computer usable medium having computer usable program code embodied therewith, the computer usable program code configured to:

receive a plurality of unperfected logs, the unperfected logs including available inventory associated with a plurality of remote media outlets, a portion of the available inventory indicated as reserved inventory, and an anticipated broadcast schedule of the media outlet's available inventory and programming content for a daypart;

store the plurality of unperfected logs in a database based on the anticipated broadcast schedule of the media outlet's available inventory and programming content for the daypart;

transmit at least one of the plurality of unperfected logs, the transmitted at least one unperfected log associated with a selected media outlet;

receive an inquiry by a content provider into one or more spots in the available inventory;

in response to the inquiry, transmit data associated with the one or more spots to the content provider;

receive a selection by the content provider of one or more spots in the available inventory in response to the transmitted data;

in response to receiving the selection, request the content provider to provide advertising content related to the selected one or more spots;

monitor a broadcast of the selected media outlet;

detect a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast;

transmit status information based on a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast;

in response to detecting a difference between the perfected log and the broadcast, classify the advertising content as

with exception, the difference including at least one of an error in a broadcast of the advertising content and the advertising content being broadcast at a different time than scheduled; and

in response to classifying the advertising content, schedule a broadcast of the advertising content.

16. The non-transitory computer usable medium of claim 15 wherein the available inventory includes inventory reserved for an advertiser and the computer program code is further configured to determine if the advertiser selected the reserved inventory.

17. The non-transitory computer usable medium of claim 15 wherein the computer program code is further configured to receive a request to modify the perfected log and preemption content and, based on rules, implement the preemption or denying the preemption.
