10. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the plurality of circumferentially spaced sensible members comprise a plurality of circumferentially spaced electrically conductive members separated by non-conductive regions.

11. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising:

a drug located within the housing.

12. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 1 , wherein

the housing defines an outer perimeter; and

the power source is located within the housing outer perimeter.

13. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 1 , wherein

the housing includes an indentation; and

the power source is positioned within the housing indentation.

14. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 13 , further comprising:

a cover that is secured to the housing and over the power source.

15. A fluid and power cartridge for use with a partially implantable medical device including a power contact, the fluid and power cartridge comprising:

a cartridge housing including a side wall and an end wall and defining an interior, an exterior, a fluid storage volume within the interior, and a power source storage volume on the exterior;

a needle, extending from the end wall, in fluid communication with the fluid storage volume;

a power source located within the cartridge housing power source storage volume on the exterior of the cartridge housing; and

means, at least a portion of which is located adjacent to the needle on the exterior of the end wall, for electrically connecting the power source to the medical device power contact when the needle supplies fluid from the fluid storage volume to the partially implantable medical device.

16. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 15 , further comprising:

a bladder located within the interior of the cartridge housing.

17. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 16 , wherein the cartridge housing side wall includes an aperture and an external protrusion that is located between the aperture and the end wall.

18. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the needle comprises a non-coring needle.

19. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 15 , wherein

the partially implantable medical device includes a sensor; and

the fluid and power cartridge includes means for facilitating the sensing of fluid and power cartridge housing rotation by the sensor.

20. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the power source comprises a battery.

21. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 15 , wherein

the exterior of the housing includes an indentation; and

the power source is positioned within the housing indentation on the exterior of the housing.

22. A fluid and power cartridge as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising:

a cover that is secured to the housing and over the power source.

23. An apparatus for use with an epidermis, comprising:

a fluid and power cartridge including a housing, a needle extending from the housing, a power source carried within a portion of the housing, and positive and negative cartridge power contacts associated with the housing and operably connected to the power source; and

a partially implantable medical device including

a percutaneous port, including an open an unobstructed first longitudinal end, a second longitudinal end, an end wall at the second longitudinal end, a resilient needle-puncturable septum at the end wall and a port power contact, that receives the fluid and power cartridge such that the cartridge needle pierces the septum, the cartridge positive power contact contacts the port power contact and at least a portion of the fluid and power cartridge housing extends through the epidermis, and that permits the fluid and power cartridge to be removed from the epidermis independently of the percutaneous port, and

an implantable operative portion including a pump with an inlet that will be fluidically connected to the cartridge when the fluid and power cartridge is within the percutaneous port, and a outlet.

24. An apparatus as claimed in claim 23 , wherein the percutaneous port includes an exterior having a porous region configured to promote soft tissue ingrowth.

25. An apparatus as claimed in claim 23 , wherein

the port power contact is associated with the end wall; and
