Abstract

A network based healthcare management system is provided. The system includes a plurality of client workstations and a plurality of healthspace service processors. The healthspace service processors access at least one database remotely disposed relative to the client workstations with the healthspace service processors providing access to predetermined healthspace resources. The system further includes a healthspace service interface unit operably coupled to the client workstations and healthspace service processors to selectively actuate at least one of the healthspace service processors responsive to the client workstations. The healthspace service interface unit including an efficiency module which adaptively maintains a plurality of parametric indicia with respect to optimum healthspace resource utilization.

Claims (27)

1. A network based healthcare management system comprising:

a plurality of client workstations each operable by at least a healthcare recipient;

a plurality of healthspace service processors, each of said healthspace service processors being operable to access at least one database remotely disposed relative to said client workstations, said healthspace service processors providing access to predetermined healthspace resources;

a healthspace service interface unit operably coupled to said client workstations and said healthspace service processors to selectively actuate at least one of said healthspace service processors responsive to said client workstations, said healthspace service interface unit including an efficiency module, said efficiency module:

(1) maintaining for each said healthcare recipient a plurality of parametric indicia defining an optimum healthspace resource utilization reference personally attainable by said healthcare recipient;

(2) automatically monitoring to track for each said healthcare recipient actual utilization by said healthcare recipient of said predetermined healthspace resources to automatically generate a personalized efficiency index indicative of the actual utilization relative to said optimum healthspace resource utilization reference thereof; and,

(3) adaptively updating both said optimum healthspace resource utilization reference and said personalized efficiency index to comparatively guide efficient utilization of said healthspace resources with respect to said healthspace resource utilization reference.

2. The network based healthcare management system as defined in claim 1 , wherein said parametric indicia includes a quantitative index generated based on at least one healthcare factor selected from the group consisting of: claims utilization, risk profiles, predictive modeling, care management intervention, statistical models, and adherence to evidence based medicine.

3. The network based healthcare management system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the health service interface unit includes a security model operable to control access to said healthspace service processors responsive to inherited security profiles of trust from a principal.

4. The network based healthcare management system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the system further comprises a change agent module, said change agent module being operable to formulate and display suggestions to improve said adaptively maintained parametric indicia with respect to optimum healthspace resource utilization.

5. The network based healthcare management system as defined in claim 4 , wherein said change agent module includes a messaging rank sub-module operable to customize said displayed suggestions to a user psychographic profile.

6. The network based healthcare management system as defined in claim 4 , wherein said change agent module includes a user history sub-module operable to detect predetermined patterns in said parametric indicia and to modify said displayed suggestions based on said detected patterns in said parametric indicia.

7. A method of maintaining an efficiency index in a network based healthcare system, the method comprising the steps of:

(a) establishing a plurality of client workstations each operable by at least a healthcare recipient;

(b) establishing a plurality of healthspace service processors, at least one of said healthspace service processors:

(1) providing access to predetermined healthspace resources; and,

(2) accessing at least one database, said database being remotely disposed relative to said client workstations;

(c) establishing at least one healthspace service interface unit operably coupled to said client workstations and said healthspace service processors, and including an efficiency module, said efficiency module:

(1) selectively actuating at least one of said healthspace service processors responsive to said client workstations;

(2) maintaining for each said healthcare recipient a plurality of parametric indicia defining an optimum healthspace resource utilization reference personally attainable by said healthcare recipient;

(3) automatically monitoring for each said healthcare recipient actual utilization by said healthcare recipient of said predetermined healthspace resources to automatically generate a personalized efficiency index indicative of the actual utilization relative to said optimum healthspace resource utilization reference thereof; and,

(4) adaptively updating both said optimum healthspace resource utilization reference and said personalized efficiency index to comparatively guide efficient utilization of said healthspace resources with respect to said healthspace resource utilization reference.

8. The method of maintaining an efficiency index in a network based healthcare system, as defined in claim 7 , wherein said parametric indicia includes a quantitative index generated based on at least one healthcare factor selected from the group consisting of: claims utilization, risk profiles, predictive modeling, care management intervention, statistical models, and adherence to evidence based medicine.

9. The method of maintaining an efficiency index in a network based healthcare system, as defined in claim 7 , wherein the health service interface unit includes a security model operable to control access to said healthspace service processors responsive to inherited security profiles of trust from a principal.

10. The method of maintaining an efficiency index in a network based healthcare system, as defined in claim 7 , wherein the method further includes: establishing a change agent module, said change agent module formulating and displaying suggestions to improve said adaptively maintained parametric indicia with respect to optimum healthspace resource utilization.

11. The method of maintaining an efficiency index in a network based healthcare system, as defined in claim 10 , wherein said change agent module includes a messaging rank sub-module customizing said displayed suggestions to a user psychographic profile.

12. The method of maintaining an efficiency index in a network based healthcare system, as defined in claim 10 , wherein said change agent module includes a user history sub-module detecting predetermined patterns in said parametric indicia, said history sub-module modifying said displayed suggestions based on said detected patterns in said parametric indicia.
