Abstract

A display apparatus that includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a thin film transistor. The first substrate includes a fiber reinforced plastic substrate and a color filter layer formed on the fiber reinforced plastic substrate. The second substrate faces the first substrate. The thin film transistor is formed on the first substrate.

Claims (27)

1. A display apparatus comprising:

a first substrate comprising a fiber reinforced plastic substrate, a color filter layer formed on the fiber reinforced plastic substrate, and a first blocking layer disposed between the color filter layer and a thin film transistor, the color filter layer comprising an organic substance that produces a color;

a second substrate facing the first substrate; and

a thin film transistor formed on the first substrate,

wherein the color filter layer is disposed between the thin film transistor and the fiber reinforced plastic substrate, and the first blocking layer prevents introduction of gases or impurities from the color filter layer into the thin film transistor.

2. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second substrate comprises a polyethersulfone substrate.

3. The display apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the first substrate further comprises a protective layer formed on the thin film transistor, and a pixel electrode connected with the thin film transistor through a contact hole formed in the protective layer,

and wherein the second substrate further comprises a common electrode formed on the polyethersulfone substrate, the common electrode configured to form an electric field together with the pixel electrode.

4. The display apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the second substrate further comprises a second blocking layer formed between the polyethersulfone substrate and the common electrode.

5. The display apparatus of claim 4 , wherein at least one of the first blocking layer and the second blocking layer comprises silicon nitride or silicon oxide.

6. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the color filter layer has a thickness of about 1.4 μm to about 6 μm.

7. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the color filter layer comprises a photosensitive organic substance.

8. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second substrate further comprises:

a fiber reinforced plastic substrate; and

a planarizing layer formed on the fiber reinforced plastic substrate.

9. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the color filter layer is disposed between the first blocking layer and the fiber reinforced plastic substrate.

10. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the planar organic layer comprises at least one of an acryl compound, Benzene Cyclobutane, and polyimide.

11. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the color filter layer is a planarizing layer for the fiber reinforced plastic substrate, the color filter layer compensating thickness variation of the fiber reinforced plastic substrate.

12. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the color filter layer comprises at least one of an acryl compound, Benzene Cyclobutane, and polyimide.

13. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the color filter layer comprises a photosensitive acryl compound.

14. A display apparatus comprising:

a first substrate comprising a fiber reinforced plastic substrate and a color filter layer formed on the fiber reinforced plastic substrate, and a blocking layer disposed between the color filter layer and a thin film transistor, the color filter layer compensating thickness variation of the fiber reinforced plastic substrate;

a second substrate facing the first substrate and comprising a common electrode on the second substrate, a planar organic layer disposed between the common electrode and the second substrate, and a second blocking layer disposed between the planar and the common electrode; and

a thin film transistor formed on the first substrate,

wherein the color filter layer is disposed between the thin film transistor and the fiber reinforced plastic substrate, the first blocking layer prevents introduction of gases or impurities from the color filter layer into the thin film transistor, the planar organic layer compensates thickness variation of the second substrate, and the second blocking layer prevents gas or impurities from being introduced from the planar organic layer.

15. The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the thin film transistor comprises an active layer and a gate electrode, and the blocking layer contacts the gate electrode.

16. The display apparatus of claim 14 further comprising a substrate, wherein the color filter layer compensates thickness variation of the substrate.
