Abstract

An injector used for an internal combustion engine includes a valve needle which closes a fuel passage by contacting a valve seat and opens the fuel passage by separating from the valve seat. A coil and a magnetic core are provided to drive the valve needle, and an anchor is held in a relatively displaceable state with respect to the valve needle. A first biasing device biases the valve needle in a direction opposite to a direction of a drive force, and a second biasing device biases the anchor in the direction of the drive force with a set load smaller than that of the first biasing device. A restricting feature restricts relative displacement of the anchor with respect to the valve needle in the direction of the drive force.

Claims (19)

1. A housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector, comprising:

a housing consisting of a one-piece part, and including an outer peripheral side to which a coil and a yoke are fixed, and an inner peripheral side to which a magnetic core is fixed;

a spring seat provided within the housing so as to form a space between the spring seat and the magnetic core;

a valve member having a rod part and a contact part provided on a tip end side of the rod part, the contact part being adapted to contact a valve seat;

an anchor arranged in the space between the spring seat and the magnetic core and mounted on the valve member; and

a valve open direction biasing spring retained by a recess of the anchor and arranged between the anchor and the spring seat in the space for biasing the anchor in a valve opening direction, wherein

the valve member is assemblable to the housing by insertion through a passage formed by a center hole of the magnetic core after the magnetic core is assembled to the inner peripheral side of the housing so as to confine the anchor and the valve open direction biasing spring in the space.

2. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 1 , wherein the spring seat also serves as a guide member which guides the valve member in the drive direction.

3. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 1 , wherein the magnetic core is pressed into the housing.

4. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 2 , wherein the guide member is fixed to the inner peripheral side of the housing.

5. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 4 , wherein

the housing includes a large diameter portion, a small diameter portion, and a diameter reducing portion of which the diameter is gradually reduced so as to connect the large diameter portion and the small diameter portion, and

the spring seat, the valve open direction biasing spring, the anchor and the magnetic core are arranged in the large diameter portion in this order from the small diameter portion side of the housing.

6. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 1 , wherein the magnetic core is provided with a valve closing direction biasing spring in the center hole of the magnetic core for biasing the valve member in a valve closing direction, and a spring retainer is fixed to an inner diameter part of the center hole of the magnetic core for adjusting a biasing load of the valve closing direction biasing spring.

7. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 1 , wherein the valve member is configured to have a restricting part provided on one end of the rod part of the valve member for restricting displacement of the anchor in the valve opening direction, and an outer diameter of the rod part on the other end side opposite to the restricting part is smaller than an inner diameter of a through hole provided in the anchor.

8. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 1 , wherein the spring seat is fixed to the inner peripheral side of the housing.

9. The housing assembly for an electromagnetic fuel injector according to claim 1 , wherein

the housing includes a large diameter portion, a small diameter portion, and a diameter reducing portion of which the diameter is gradually reduced so as to connect the large diameter portion and the small diameter portion, and

the spring seat, the valve open direction biasing spring, the anchor and the magnetic core are arranged in the large diameter portion in this order from the small diameter portion side of the housing.
