Abstract

An inkjet recording method including: (i) exposing a surface of a recording medium to non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma so as to hydrophilize the surface of the recording medium, and (ii) applying a stimulus to an ink composition so as to eject the ink composition to form an image on the recording medium, wherein the ink composition contains at least one of a pigment/water-dispersible resin particle mixture in which a pigment is dispersed along with water-dispersible resin particles and colored water-dispersible resin particles each of which is a water-dispersible resin particle which is colored.

Claims (14)

1. An inkjet recording method comprising:

(i) exposing a surface of a recording medium to non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma so as to hydrophilize the surface of the recording medium, and

(ii) applying a stimulus to an ink composition so as to eject the ink composition to form an image on the recording medium,

wherein (i) and (ii) are successively performed, and

wherein the ink composition comprises at least one of a pigment/water-dispersible resin particle mixture in which a pigment is dispersed along with water-dispersible resin particles and colored water-dispersible resin particles each of which is a water-dispersible resin particle which is colored.

2. The inkjet recording method according to claim 1 , wherein (ii) is performed within 10 seconds after performing (i).

3. The inkjet recording method according to claim 1 , wherein the water-dispersible resin particles comprise an acryl silicone resin.

4. An inkjet recording apparatus comprising:

a hydrophilizing unit configured to expose a surface of a recording medium to non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma so as to hydrophilize the surface of the recording medium,

an ejecting unit configured to apply a stimulus to an ink composition so as to eject the ink composition to form an image on the recording medium,

wherein said apparatus is configured such that said hydrophilizing unit and said ejecting unit are arranged such that said exposing and said applying are successively performed, and

wherein the ink composition comprises at least one of a pigment/water-dispersible resin particle mixture in which a pigment is dispersed along with water-dispersible resin particles and colored water-dispersible resin particles each of which is a water-dispersible resin particle which is colored.

5. The inkjet recording apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein said applying is performed within 10 seconds after performing said exposing.

6. The inkjet recording apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the water-dispersible resin particles comprise an acryl silicone resin.
