Claims (17)

- 11 . (canceled)

. A method of inhibiting expression of a target mRNA in a subject comprising:

administering to the subject an article comprising an oligonucleotide of 5 to 30 nucleotides in length and a water soluble atelocollagen that has a degree of cross-linking of 3 or less.

. The method of claim 12 , in which the atelocollagen has a molecular weight of 300,000 to 900,000 daltons.

. The method of claim 12 , in which the atelocollagen is a water soluble type I atelocollagen.

. The method of claim 12 , in which the oligonucleotide has at least one phosphorothioate bond.

. The method of claim 12 , in which the oligonucleotide has a base sequence complementary to a sequence of a target mRNA or of a target mRNA precursor.

. The method of claim 12 , in which the oligonucleotide is a DNA or a DNA derivative.

. The method of claim 12 , in which the oligonucleotide is a RNA or a RNA derivative.

. A method of inhibiting expression of a target mRNA in a cell comprising:

contacting the cell with an article comprising an oligonucleotide of 5 to 30 nucleotides in length and a water soluble atelocollagen that has a degree of cross-linking of 3 or less.

. The method of claim 19 , in which the atelocollagen has a molecular weight of 300,000 to 900,000 daltons.

. The method of claim 19 , in which the atelocollagen is a water soluble type I atelocollagen.

. The method of claim 19 , in which the oligonucleotide has at least one phosphorothioate bond.

. The method of claim 19 , in which the oligonucleotide has a base sequence complementary to a sequence of a target mRNA or of a target mRNA precursor.

. The method of claim 19 , in which the oligonucleotide is a DNA or a DNA derivative.

. The method of claim 19 , in which the oligonucleotide is a RNA or a RNA derivative.
