METHODS FOR THE THERAPEUTIC USE OF CYCLOSPORINE COMPONENTS
Methods of treating humans or animals having various conditions are disclosed which include administering a therapeutically effective amount of a cyclosporine component to the human or animal, thereby treating the condition. Among the conditions treated are systemic lupus eryhematosis, multiple sclerosis, maloplabia of the skin, oral frictional hyperkeratosis, oral manifestations of autoimmune blistering disease, oral lichen planus, aphthous ulcers, nasal polyps, rhinosporiodosis, sinusitis, iritis, carcinoid lung, laryngitis and atrophic gastritis.
1 . A method of treating multiple sclerosis, the method comprising administering cyclosporin A to a human or animal having multiple sclerosis.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising administering the cyclosporin A by a method selected from the group consisting of intravenous, intramuscular, intraperitoneal, intrasternal, subcutaneous, and intraocular injection.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising administering the cyclosporin A by a method selected from the group consisting of intravenous, intramuscular, intraperitoneal, intrasternal, subcutaneous, and intraocular infusion.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising administering the cyclosporin A orally.
