COORDINATING USER IMAGES IN AN ARTISTIC DESIGN

1 . A computer implemented method for generating an image display product, comprising the steps of:

receiving a digital image comprising a plurality of image attribute values;

automatically extracting and evaluating the attribute values;

automatically selecting a digital image template from a stored collection of digital templates having template attributes correlating with the evaluated attribute values and having designated windows for disposing digital images;

automatically searching a digital image database for at least one other digital image having attribute values compatible with the template attributes and with the image attribute values; and

automatically disposing the received digital image and the at least one other digital image in the designated locations for forming the image display product, and electronically displaying the image display product.

2 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the digital image database is contained in a portable memory device.

3 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the digital image database is contained in a network accessible storage device.

4 . The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of displaying the image display product in a separate window.

5 . The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of displaying the image display product as a list of image and template file names.

6 . The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of providing a frame corresponding to the digital image template and disposing prints of the digital image and the at least one other digital image in windows of the frame corresponding to the locations for disposing digital images.

The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of printing the image display product having the received digital image and the at least one other digital image placed in the designated locations, wherein said image display product comprises one of the following: an album page; a print; a shirt; a label; a mug, a screen saver, a sticker.

8 . The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of permitting a user to modify or replace the at least one other digital image.

9 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of automatically searching further comprises identifying a weight of each of said attribute values and determining which of the at least one other digital image satisfies a higher weighted attribute value.

10 . The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of permitting a user to relocate at least one of said plurality of designated locations within the digital image template.

11 . The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of digitally storing as a computer accessible file the image display product.

12 . The method according to claim 11 further comprising the step of transmitting the computer accessible file over a communication network.

13 . The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of printing the image display product.

14 . A computer implemented method for creating a coordinated image display, comprising the steps of:

accessing at least one of a plurality of digital image files including reading a plurality of image attribute values corresponding to the at least one digital image file;

evaluating the attribute values to generate an image profile for the at least one digital image file;

selecting a digital template from a plurality of stored digital templates based on the image profile, said digital template having a plurality of windows each having at least one required image attribute associate therewith; and

automatically searching a database of images each having at least one image attribute value corresponding therewith for placement in one or more remaining openings in said digital template, each of said at least one more image satisfying said at least one required attribute corresponding to said one or more remaining openings and having an attribute value compatible with an attribute value of the at least one digital image file.

The method according to claim 14 wherein the step of automatically searching further includes the step of automatically searching the database of images for a last image whose at least one image attribute value satisfies a required image attribute of a last remaining available window and also is compatible with the at least one image attribute value of the at least one digital image file.

16 . The method according to claim 15 further comprising the step of displaying the template with an image from the at least one digital image file and said at least one more image placed in their corresponding windows.

17 . The method according to claim 14 further comprising the step of displaying an image from the at least one digital image file and the at least one more image in separate windows.

18 . The method according to claim 15 further comprising the step of displaying an image from the at least one digital image file and the at least one more image as a list of image names.

19 . The method according to claim 15 further comprising the step of providing a frame corresponding to the digital template and disposing a print of an image from the at least one digital image file and the at least one more image in windows of the frame corresponding to windows in the digital template.

20 . The method according to claim 15 wherein the step of automatically searching further comprises identifying a weight of each of said at least one required image attribute and determining which of the at least one more images satisfies a higher weighted required attribute.
